I have attempted to make a lineup change...

Austin Collie in for Mike Sims-Walker.

The software will not allow it due to my roster move to drop Hanson and pickup Hartley.

I think the lineup change should be allowed, but am not going to go in and override it with out some feedback from the league.

What say you, ECB owners?

This is the message I get when I try to make the move in MFL...

Bonney Lake Blue Ballers Cannot Un-Start Hanson, Jason DET PK After His Game Has Started
Lineup Not Accepted!

I do not wish to unstart my kicker, the software does not know what to do with the fact that he is in my lineup, but no longer on my roster.

Just to clarify why my kicker is preventing me from switching WRs.

I see no reason why the WR lineup change should not be allowed. Looks to be clearly a glitch in the MFL software AND NOT an invalid lineup submission.

I say go ahead with the commish push through.

Looks like it should be a legal move.

Edit: Sorry didn't look at it closely before responding. So this transaction occurred after the kickoff of the first game? After that point aren't all transactions for the following week? Sorry, not clear on how that rule works.
digitaldan21
The money for all moves after 10am Sunday goes to the next week, but I tried to make the starting lineup move well before kickoff of either player involved.

A player is allowed to be picked up and started as long as that player's game hasn't started for the week, it was specifically addressed as a MNF issue, but the spirit was to allow owners to submit a full lineup when late breaking news effects their team.

Got it, thanks for the clarification. So my original comment stands then.

Have no problem you correcting an MFL malfunction.

Rules state:

Weekly Lineup Setup
Lineup Submission Deadline: Players Are Locked At Kickoff Of Their Game
Are Partial Lineups Allowed? SYSTEM

As the player you dropped was not used, replace Sims-Walker with Collie.

Are you sure it was your kicker transaction instead of dropping a player(harrison) whose game had already started?
digitaldan21
It wouldn't let me submit a lineup that did not contain Jason Hanson, because his game had already started. He was in an early kickoff game.

It didn't have anything to do with Harrison because he wasn't in my starting lineup.

As long as you didn't pick up Collie after the first kickoff you should be able to add him to your lineup if his game has not started. Go commish it up.

I thought we had decided at the rules meeting that you couldn't start someone that you picked up after the first kickoff of the week. Am I remebering that incorrectly? If not, then the Collie change would not be allowed since Dan added him after the early morning games had started. If I'm completely off-base (quite possible) then the change is good.

ETA: I just checked the New Rules thread pinned above. I guess we just talked about it and decided to allow any lineup changes for any players that hadn't started their game yet, no matter when they were acquired, so the Collie change is good to go.

I am pretty sure we also said you couldn't use one roster spot to start two players e.g., dropping a player who you started Sunday morning to pick up a player to play Monday night.

1st - That would be virtually impossible to track.
2nd- That's not what I did. Dropped Hanson to pickup Hartely, then I dropped Harrison to pick up Collie.

...and to be honest with you, I have no problem with that. If I start say, Tom Brady, and he breaks his leg, Joe Theisman style, no doubt about, he's done for the year, kinda thing in the first quarter of his game. Why shouldn't I be able to drop him and pick up a WR that's playing on Sunday night. Tom Brady would still be in my lineup, and the WR starting lineup choice would be up to me as long as I still had at least one WR who's game had not yet started.

ECB has one main focus IMO, building the pot, and anything that facilitates that without giving any one owner an unfair advantage has always been encouraged.

Once a player has been submitted into a lineup they are there once the game starts.

I'd rather have saved the $5, but once MSW was benched (suspended 30mins prior to kickoff) I had no other startable WRs on my roster.

You still won the game, and no one seems to have any issues with it other than you. Not everyone has checked in, but everyone else who has checked in sees it as a legitimate roster transaction.

Dan... he doesn't have an issue with it. His first post says to play Collie and his second was stating the way he read the discussion of the rule when we were together and that it isn't mentioned in the rules.

He wouldn't have seen the email or this thread until probably way late Sunday night if I hadn't told him to come to the forum when I did. I had to turn to my right to the chair next to me to tell him as we were sitting in my living room watching the games at the time...... and he had no problem with it then or later.

drbob
I did not have a problem with the start of Collie. I was just talking about the rules discussion when we were talking about the 24/7 waivers.
