Hey, I re-signed CC Brown who I previously had a dead year on...I get that back correct? Then I will get a dead year on Gaines Adams. Also, I am pretty sure I asked for Brown to have a 1 year contract assigned, not 3 like he used to have because I need to free up some years!

As long as we're talking contract years....I recently waived TE Martin Rucker, who had been on my taxi squad. He was never assigned a contract, but is counted as a dead year in the "adjustments" link on our MFL rosters. ??

as long as he clears waivers you can assign him anything you want - but because you cut him you still have the 1 dead year on the 3 yr contract - if someone else had picked him up - you would have gotten the dead year back that is my interpretation of the waiver rule.

12.2 A team can only get relief for a contract after he is assigned a new contract by any team.

It says a team gets relief if the player is signed by any team, not any OTHER team...as I missing something? I assigned him a new contract...

agree with the dog on this one, the relief is the payoff for gambling to let him go and then resign him later

It is sort of a grey area - I will take away the 1 year penalty. Perhaps it would make for good discussion for rules next year to spell it out a little more clearly.

Now I'm being charged 1.00 for Marcus Monk, who also never left the taxi squad and was never assigned a contract. sad.gif

Comments: taxi squad for Woodhead

I had no way of knowing Monk has or doesn't have a contract after the fact. MFL doesn't list contracts of dropped players or DTS designations. - if you added to the comments - dropping Monk from taxi, it would be crystal clear. Sorry but this is part of why I need more details in comments or in a seperate thread.
