Seahawks MLB Lofa Tatupu is undergoing surgery on his torn pectorals muscle Thursday. He'll be placed on injured-reserve, ending his season.
The Seahawks hoped that Tatupu could rehab the muscle in time to play late in the season, but Dr. James Andrews advised the surgery. David Hawthorne will continue to fill in at middle linebacker, but he's nowhere close to Tatupu's talent level. Tatupu has been extremely durable in his career up until this season, and he should make a full recovery.
