I am going to try to get the schedule up in the next two days, I just wanted some opinions....

As for the divisions, should I leave them as they are or give them some sort of organization?  (ie, by geography, 1 out of state conference, 2 in state,  randomize them further? )

We will be playing all in division teams once and non-division teams twice.  In order to accomplish this, we will need to play one doubleheader.  In the past, i have scheduled a few non-conference games early, then you get into division opponents, with the doubleheader played in between the two groups of in-conference games.  That would place the doubleheader week somewhere around weeks 8-10.  Any opinions on this?

You mentioned a double header, completely out of the blue and without a vote, and people seemed not to like the idea, yet its there anyway. We also expressed a desire that if we do have to have a double header, it at least be week 1, 2, 11, 12, or 13, so as to avoid bye weeks. It sucks losing a game because several of your best players are off. it sucks even worse to lose two for that reason on the same day.

I wasn't trying to be insensitive, Los, its just a complicated set of parameters and we already had a fair amount of dissention on number of playoff teams...week of the superbowl...and doubleheaders. IF we get to the point where doubleheaders are an option, then yes, I'll put up a vote for when it should be. However, now that we have opened up this can of worms, just cross your fingers and hope that the league doesn't approve a week 17 superbowl!

Why the aversion to a 17 week schedule. One of my league has had it for years that way and it works well. To tell you the truth, I have been burned by starters resting on week 16, as many times as in week 17? Why cut the season short one week? It allows for a schedule just like the NFL with a balanced schedule.
