Full Version: So, what have we learned?

It's fun watching football when I just turn on the tube and enjoy what happens. Forget all the over-analyzation, punditville garbage, hype and predictions.

Lions and tigers and bears....oh my!!!! I can't wait for the rematch in Detroit! The Chicago Bears (my hometown team) have heart, a great defense, and a great coach in the making! How sick is the fact that they've won 3 straight without passing for more than 168 yards in a game? The Bears will disrupt someone's playoff hopes.

The Browns are punks, mouthing off in the paper then starting a fight before the game.

Eli Manning's time has come and his older brother is the MVP.

The Vikings are in the middle of another collapse and is still a long ways from doing anything significant in the playoffs.

Anyone can look good behind KC's o-line and maybe Holmes isn't so special.

The Saints can play when they want to. They just usually don't want to.

The Titans could be the 3rd worst team in the AFC right now only ahead of Miami and Buffalo. The Seahawks may be able to make it to my Super Bowl party because right now it does not look like they will be busy in Febuary.

I learned that you never play a QB who has been playing very well against one of the worst D's in football in what was supposed to be a shoot out. (Thanks Carr)

I also learned that you shouldn't play a RB with a turf toe injury after he has 2 weeks to let it heal up. Even though the last time you benched him, he ran for almost 150 yds with the same injury.

I've also learned that if you play in multiple leagues, draft different players so that if one team sucks, all of your teams don't suck.

Just when you think Manning didn't even know Stokley still played on the Colts he racks up over 100 yds and 2 td's ... g-rant.gif
WaterMan
Green Bay barely beat Minnesota, on a bad call ,even with Moss on the sidelines.

I obviously take exception to the "Browns are punks" line. did Warren actually DO anything in the game? Nope, he actually shook Ben's hand BEFORE the game started.

There has always been a heated rivalry between these two DIVISION foes. No one really knows how the fight broke out pre-game but it's safe to say that with BOTH players being ejected, it just wasn't the Browns being punks...

now get it right...

The niners, cowboys, and redskins are the worst teams in the NFC. blink.gif

Basically, the only true formula to success in FF is starting Manning each week. Otherwise, throw yer players' names in a hat and pick yer lineup....

g-coach.gif HASSELBECK!!! :shakesfist:

I've also learned that Edge makes a fantastic #2 RB, but with the egomaniacal Manning running the show, he just falls short of being a good #1 RB.

Also, I am dumb. (points galore left on the bench this season)

I've learned that I can't believe how shortsighted people are about this whole Manning-selfishness thing. Sheesh.

I have learned that when you fall on a fumble, it doesn't matter cause Green Bay gets the ball back anyways,,

It's that Lambeu Field mystique. Do you remember that recent MNF game?
BrooklynCrew
I've learned that when Todd Heap is out and J.Ogden isn't blocking, Jamal isn't running wild.

I've learned that Javon Walker is capable of solid fantasy numbers with only 2-3 catches a game.

I've learned that consistent WR's are few and far between in the NFL.
Monsters Of The Midway
g-coach.gif NEVER bet against our beloved Bears! yay.gif
MrTed46
I learned that C Brown should wear a skirt

I learned that Carr should be kicking punts like Kordell Stewart

I learned that any defense I play against will do good (Colt this week)

I learned that Bulger doesnt care for his WRs health (how many fingures do you see holt?)

I should be a pro next year with all that I have learned
TDFFFreak
Whenever I play against Alge Crumpler in fanasy, he will always have a great game.

I learned that there are a LOT of whiny Peyton-haters out there.

And Vikings fans.

I learned that:

- Roy Williams clearly is not 100%

- Jimmy Smith can still get it done

- as can Brett Favre (he should never be ranked outside of anyone's top 5 Fantasy QB lists at any time)

- Rumors of the Patriots demise were a bit pre-mature. I am no fan, but you have to hand it to them they are quite a TEAM.

- Bledsoe is god-awful, and has an absolute man crush on Eric Moulds.

- The Sunday night "Announce Team" for ESPN talk more than any 3 dicks I've ever heard- they just never shut up.

I learned that Ramsey threw for more yards in one game than Brunell has in almost three. Eventhough, he had two pick, Ramsey should start the rest of the year. Another "We'll be good next year" season for us Skins fans.

I've learned that the thing that hurts the most, is being kicked by Squeegie when you're down. sad.gif Oh Squeegie... don't.

I have also learned that Bill and Squeegiebo take it personal when anyone says anything negative about Manning.
Bengal Mania
The Bengals have made some positive strides recently, especially on Defense. Beating three teams with very good defenses (Denver, Dallas, Wash) by playing better defense that day.

The Bengals finally drafted a 2nd Rnd DB (M Williams) who will make an impact while playing for the Bengals.

My man-love for Peyton Manning has nothing at all to do with the points he's getting me for my league leading FFL team.

It is personal. I need that biatch to keep throwing TDs like it's his dam job. Which it is.

I've learned that the longer that DMD and WW leave this board open to non-subscribers, the more trash it attracts.

I bet Bill is Peyton Manning.

I learned that Herm Edwards is a lousy tactical coach. But, I knew that already. I did however learn that Edwards does not have any faith in Quincy Carter with the game on the line. He also has difficulty learning how to read a clock...... I guess because it's digital and runs backwards..... this is obviuosly a very confusing thing, I mean clocks go clockwise right? Clock wise is not a useful word in any context when discussing Herman Edwards. My mistake.

I learned that when you have a team beaten, and are driving for a third unanswered TD, the best way to lose the game is to get too cute. Edwards and staff are so cute they make want to puke. g-sick.gif

I learned that even if you are "the future of the franchise", a HC will still send you out to your death behind lion bait lineman in the gladiator's arena, someplce no Giant O lineman should go. Eli, check on that major medical coverage clause in your contract. Feign illness. That weather in SD must look awfully nice about now! laughing.gif
