  1. R. Brown or B. Jacobs?

    I agree with Bed
  2. qb they both suck please your opinion

Start no QB and take the chance that 0 is better then negative points That's one ugly choice. Brunell over Harrington...the Bears DEF is very good.
  3. WDIS at RB in TD only league

I think the always start your Studs comes into play here. Remember that Johnson only had limited carries last week even after they had a huge lead. Johnson is a stud but he doesn't become an every day starter until Holmes is out of the picture.
  4. WDIS? Need 2 RB's out of list inside...

Even though Johnson is going to get 10 - 12 carries...I believe the Chiefs will be way ahead early and they will sit Holmes sometime in the 2nd half. I think you need to stay away from Arrington and Bennett and start Davis.
  5. Jamal Lewis or Ladanian Tomlinson?

Sometimes it doesn't matter about matchups. The term "always start your studs especially when they are going for the consecutive game with a TD streak" comes into play.
  6. wdis

Clayton against Buffalo may be a mess but Taylor against his life in the NFL has been a mess. Until Taylor proves something...anything...you gotta start Clayton over him regardless of opponent.
  7. Pennington?

6 Fumbles???? I know he didn't lose them all but darn!!!
  8. 2005 NFL Survivor Challenge: Week 1

    Carolina Pathers
  9. This was in RTSPorts this morning. Panthers fans is this true? Aug 28 2005 3:30AM Updating previous reports, the Gaston Gazette's Steve Reed reports Carolina Panthers RB DeShaun Foster has conceded that RB Stephen Davis will be the team's starting running back opening day, if Davis' injured knee holds up. "We all know Stephen (Davis) is the starter," Foster said after Carolina's 23-20 preseason win Friday night, Aug. 26, over the Cleveland Browns. "That's how it is. We have a good player right there and he's going to help the team out and we're glad to have hi m back." The Panthers would like an offense similar to 2003 when they ran both Davis and Foster at teams every week. There were times when Davis was more effective, and other times when Foster carried the load. Foster is no lock to make it through the season with getting hurt. Right now the team has four other backs that could step in should Davis and Foster get injured. Fantasy Impact: Davis should be ready to go for the season opener, so expect him to start. He is a bit of a risk, but could be a fine No. 2 back if his knee holds up.
  10. Lost in a world of Individual Defense.

That is one hell of a scoring system. I can say for the first time that IDP's are more valuable then Offensive players in this scoring system. Now more then ever you need to make projections for all players and fit them into a ranking system. Use VBD and include IDP's as apart of that. Julius Peppers has great value in this system because he has outproduced most DL over the last 3 years.
  11. *** HUDDLE UP AND READ THIS ***

Thanks David and Whitney...truly appreciated. You may even grab us all to pay next year
  12. how did i do?

Glad to see that the choice not to participate in Yahoo leagues is a good one.
  13. Peppers

Yeah IDPers wouldn't know that he is the best DE in the game today
  14. Panthers RB

The answer to your question is this...it doesn't matter whether you pick up Foster or not...when Foster or Brown are available as Free Agents this means you are in a 6 to 8 team league. For a 6 to 8 team league this team just flat out stinks and neither Foster or Brown will help you. Swamp's got it right...any opening in your leagues???
  15. Attn Eagle Fans - Need More Owners

They are as passionate when their team is winning
  16. Henry to be Traded?

Don't see this posted here yet so thought I would add it: http://www.billsinsider.com/index.php?POST...3912920afa85221 Friday, July 08, 2005 - 08:19 PM The latest word on Buffalo RB Travis Henry is that he will be traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars and that the deal is all but done. The Bills would be recieving a 3rd round draft choice in next years NFL draft and there could designated production benchmarks that, if met, could turn it into a 2nd round pick. If there is a hangup on the deal, it will be based on the conditions needed to transform it from a 3rd to a 2nd rounder. Henry is expected to take a physical in Jacksonville sometime next week, which he will pass, and it shouldn't be long after that the deal is made official. The Tennessee Titans are also in the mix (and recently the Vikings have been added in the rumors), but at this point it looks as if Jacksonville is more willing to meet Tom Donahoe's demands.
  17. Henry to be Traded?

Maybe they didn't realize how bad Taylor's injury was. They thought it would heal and have since found out that it hasn't healed right. Just speculating here but it's what makes sense.
  18. Dynasty leahue trade offer

I don't think it's a matter of whether you do the trade. A comment you made is really eye opening. Taking Arrington at 1.5 if he is there is a no brainer and you will be lucky, if you take Shelton at 1.5 you are a fool. Way to early for Shelton when you have solid WR's available. Shelton may never make the field. If you want Shelton then trade down to 1.8 or so but please don't waste the 1.5 pick on him.
  19. New IDP dynasty league, Need Help!

Your DL isn't the only spot where you need some work as you are weak at Safety and CB as well. At this point you don't have much to work with but beggars can't be choosers. You have to forsake youth and grab players that will contribute for the next couple of years for you. You can still grab some youth. Below is my assessment of who might be worth a pick and the reasons why: Defensive End Derrick Burgess - DE - Raiders - Derrick has been injured each of the last 3 years so there is an issue on his ability to stay healthy. If he is able to get past this, Derrick is a good to great player. In his rookie year had an average of over 1 sack per game in the games he played. In the playoffs against the Falcons he had 2 sacks and was a key component to shutting down Vick for the Eagles. This guy is worth the chance. If he has a full year playing he could have 10+ sacks and be in the top 30 or better. Antwan Odom or Travis Laboy or Bo Schobel - DE's - Titans - All 3 of these guys are 2nd year players and 1 or 2 of them are expected to step up. Kearse left for the Eagles last year and this year they lost Carter and Hall to FA. These guys are young and they have the opportunity. Now one or 2 of them have to step up. It might be worth taking them later in the draft. Ty Warren - DE - Pats - Ty was drafted as a DT but was moved to DE solely because the Pats play a 3-4 Defense and he looks to be a good fit for that scheme. He is young and has promise and could be drafted later in your draft. Linebackers Landon Johnson - LB - Bengals - Johnson took advantage of an injury to Webster and played MLB last year for the Bengals. He led the team in tackles with 133 and it is now his job to lose coming into this year. He is entering his 2nd year and has promise. Definitely worth a pick. James Harrison - LB - Steelers - Harrison played well on special teams and ended up playing LB towards the end of the regular season. Harrison won't start this year unless there is an injury but he is the next LB in line to play. Jackson has been a disappointment and Harrison hass passed him to be next in line to start. Antwan Peek - LB - Texans - Peek is a speedy outside LB who is entering his 2nd year. He is slated to start on the outside and looks like he may be a rush specialist. He has plenty of upside and could be your starting LB in a year or 2. Again he is worth a pickup. Cornerbacks Nick Harper - CB - Colts - Harper played through injuries last year but when he was on the field he was a fairly good FF scorer. He isn't young but you would get a couple more years out of him. Your CB's aren't anything to write home about and he wouldn't be a bad addition. Fred Smoot - CB - Vikings - With the Redskins Smoot wasn't a very good fantasy player because he WAS the shut down corner. On the Vikings this is a different story. Winfield is not only the shut down Corner but he is the hitter in this CB corp. Because of this I see Smoot being run at and I see him being tested through the air. This could be the year Smoot breaks into a solid FF CB. Andre Dyson - CB - Seahawks - Entering his 5th year and signing a nice contract with the Seahawks makes Andre happy. Again he isn't the shut down corner here so he will be tested more often then not. That bodes well for a FF CB as points should come his way. Safety Tebucky Jones - S - Dolphins - Tebucky has always produced fairly well as a FF Safety and I don't see this changing. He won't get you interceptions as his coverage is mediocre at best but he is an active safety who likes to hit. You are weak at safety and he isn't a bad possibility. Mike Minter - S - Panthers - Minter's ability is declining but as with Tebucky he will get you some decent FF points. These are points you will need with your weak DB's. Will Allen - S - Bucs - Allen is entering his 2nd year and will be battling for the starting spot with the Bucs. I like his upside and will be worth a pickup for the future. He might even get you some points this year if he wins the job outright this year. Lastly, since you have 4 rounds at the end of the draft for rookies...I would shoot for Davis and a DE with one of the last 4 picks. Also look to pickup a few rookies that might be able to help defensively in FA as there are certainly more then 64 rookies worth a pickup on Defense. HtH. Storm
  20. The Huddle Rankings - RB's

Confusing...Yes...but strong as hell...the RB field really goes 20 - 24 deep with difinitive starters and good stat RB's. Even the rooks aren't a bad play (all 4 of them).
  21. The Huddle Rankings - RB's

I'd like to add something to DMD's summary here, in Denver Portis ran in a zone rushing scheme which seemed to be a strength of his. Last year, in the counter tres, Portis seemed uncomfortable earlier in the year because he wasn't showing patience in this running. You have to slow yourself up and allow the hogs to open up the holes. Part of the reason why he finished stronger was that he started getting the hang of the Skins running system. I agree with DMD that Portis does belong in the top 10 and you should see him reach much higher #'s this year.
  22. The Huddle Rankings - RB's

I think the big thing to consider is last year the Saints went to a 1 back set which is not McAllister's strength. This year they are returning to the 2 back set with a good blocking Fullback and I see McAllister returning to form of 2 years ago. I think the interesting question is, who on that list will not be in the top 10. The top 3 are Barber, Dillon and D. Davis who may not be on the list.
  23. Okay ... I'm bored ... and this place is dead

I am not going to go into long explanations of the leagues I am in as there are just too darn many: Local Leagues 1. Wayne's World - A 12 team semi keeper league that started 12 years ago. 2. TFFL - Met a guy here at the Huddle and joined his local 12 team league. I think they are entering their 18th or 19th year. This is a re-draft league BOTH Leagues 1. PAFFL - Philly area league made up of local Huddlers. Soaring Eagle and I started this 12 team semi-keeper league which is entering its 5th year. 2. F-OFF - Joined this 12 team league last year and compete against Blitz and other Huddlers. This too is a partial keeper league. 3. Poles n Holes 2 - 12 Team Dynasty IDP league entering its second year of play. Other Leagues 1. Interboard Challenge - 60 Team league consisting of 12 members from 5 different boards. I am 1 of 12 owners who represent The Huddle in this league. 2. Trench Warfare - 24 team Dynasty IDP League entering its 5th year. This is one league not a league split into 2. This leaue is comprised of alot of the old HUddlers. 3. Ironman 3 - 14 Team IDP Dynasty league competing against very knowledgable FFers including Mike MacGregor of FBG. 4. Perfect Vision - A brand new 20 Team IDP Dynasty league made up of heavy posters on many of the boards. 5. Game Breakers - A Brand new 14 team IDP Dynasty league made up of heavy posters on many of the baords. 6. Bound for Glory - A 12 team IDP Dynasty league entering its 3rd year. Led by the same Huddler who is leading the Huddle team in Interboard Challenge. 7. Zealots 2 - A 12 team IDP league where I joined after the team was drafted. This is my 3rd year since taking over this team. 8. APFFL - A 12 Team IDP Dynasty league where I took over for a team that left. 9. EDFFL - A 10 team IDP Dynasty league where I took over for a team that left this year. I am in too many leagues when I didn't pay attention to the fact that there are 10 teams. I don't really like them as there isn't much skill involved. 10. Have just been invited to join a Live draft league in the DC area. Partial keeper with 12 teams. Thinking about whether its worth the 3 hour drive to join. Only a couple of leagues. Not as bad as I thought.
  24. Interboard Challenge League 2005

I would have paid alot to see Sarge and Axe go at it on the Intraleague board. Maybe next year.
  25. Interboard Challenge League 2005

Can't believe I am about to say this. I vote to bring Sarge in. He should be able to rival Axe on the chatter side of things.
