Mike Tice announced today that Taylor has officially passed Robinson up on the depth chart.

Mike Tice said following Friday's game that Taylor has earned the spot and will likely remain in it when the Vikings go with two wide receivers and Robinson will be the first option when the three-receiver set is used.

Winds of change

Wide receiver Travis Taylor started Friday night in place of Marcus Robinson, who started the first preseason game against Kansas City but has been competing with Taylor for the starting job.

Coach Mike Tice did not indicate the move was permanent but said Taylor moved ahead of Robinson on the depth chart late this week. Taylor finished the game with two receptions for 39 yards, and Robinson caught two passes for 49 yards -- including a 42-yarder on third-and-22.

"Travis deserves a chance because of his consistency in the two tight-end offense," Tice said. "Marcus, right now, is coming in when we have three wide receivers.

"We're trying to find ways of getting our playmakers the ball."

Edited to take all the other unimportant suff out

Maybe......he just needed to be on a team.....with a real Quarterback. :D

Taylor was a big reason the QBs sucked. I can't remember how many balls he either dropped, or worse, tipped to a safety about 5-10 yards behind him.

Keep this in mind too. When he was hurt last year, he spent part of his time on TLCs "A Baby Story". I'm sure that got him laughed at quite a bit in the locker room.

The guy is soft. The ONLY thing Billick ever said good about him was that he was a good blocker in the running game. Maybe Tice will use him as a blocker and has told CPep not to throw to him.

Tice is going to bring a RBBC and WRBC this year. Cpep threw to about 8 different guys in the first half of the Jets game.

CPep is the only safe draft off of that team...or else you'll be suffering headaches all year.

But, the Vikings are going to win the division--even with the Pencil head calling the shots.

Don't these two things contradict one another?

Taylor will be a solid WR3 for your fantasy team this year. Culpepper loves him and will throw his way often.

1000 yards/5-8 TD's
