Of the 3, which one would you start?

Standard scoring, no points for receptions.

Jordan vs NE

Arrington vs NYG

Brown vs Den

I'm leaning towards Jordan, even against NE. I think Oak has the best chance to open up running lanes with their passing attack. Arrington is a close second against a weaker D, but I wanna see a few performances first before starting him.

Brown - x factor. Bad offense. Not much of a consideration for now.....

Thanks Hugh!

I agree 100% with your thinking here. I only saw a little bit of Arrington when he played the Raiders, and what I s did not overly impress me. He id have one nice run called back, but other than that the Raiders were breaking through the line and hitting him in the backfield and he dropped a pas over the middle htat he should have caught.

I go with jordan and see if Moss and Porter stretching the field don't open him up some nice lanes.

One more question for you.  Who should I start along with LT......

S. Jackson @ SF or L. Jordan @ NE

Thanks..I am leaning towards Jackson

I lean Jackson as well. He has looked fairly strong so far and IMO STL should get a lead and we''ll see plenmty of Jackson in the second half running the clock (not that Martz would do something conventional like that if he got a lead)

Ok I need a little help.

Need to pick 2 RB, * indicates who I have starting right now

*Portis, Wash v. Chic.

*A.Green, GB @ DET

Martin, Jets @ KC

963413

Tough call between Green and Martin IMO, but I lean Green as well. No logical reason other than gut feel that Green will have a slightly better game than Martin and my coin came up heads which i said was for Green.

Hey Hugh, hope you and the family are doing well.

I think I already have my mind made up but just wondering if I am thinking correctly.

Standard performance scoring with 1-pt per reception. My dilemma is at WR: I have Walker, Roy Williams, Deion Branch, and Chris Chambers and we start 2.

I am starting Walker and leaning toward Roy Williams against GB. Branch plays against Oakland and with the way NE spreads the ball I figure Williams has greater upside. But Roy will probably draw Al Harris who is the Pack's only CB worth a crap.

Thanks for the advice.

I stick with Lelie and Boldin until we see what sort of distribution of the ball happens in Detroit.

6 points for each touchdown.

2 points for each 2-point conversion.

1 bonus points for scores from 21 to 50 yards.

2 bonus points for scores from 51 to 75 yards.

4 bonus points for scores from 76 to 100 yards.

1 bonus points for 50 to 74 total yards.

2 bonus points for 75 to 99 total yards.

3 bonus points for 100 to 149 total yards.

5 bonus points for 150 to 199 total yards.

8 bonus points for 200 to 300 total yards.

Right now I have Ashley Lelie vs. Miami & Anquan Boldin vs. New Orleans penciled in to start, with an big asterisk on Charles Rogers vs. Green Bay.  Should I swap out either receiver for Rogers?

Personally, there isn't a single Detroit Lion that I would start aside from K. Jones. Not one. Not until they show me something. The play calling sucks, the pass protection sucks, the QB's suck. I'm not sold on Lelie, especially with a tough matchup, but I think he's a better option than Rogers right now, even though Rogers has a favorable matchup.

Hey Hugh, as always, glad to see you back again buddy. I bet the kid is getting hugh!!! Hope all is well.  :D

I have a question, not necessarily for Week 1 play, but for a Week 1 transaction. Standard performance league (Passing TD 6 points and Passing yards 1 per 20).

I currently have Bulger as my starting QB with Carr as my back-up. I am looking out to Bulger's Week 9 bye week. I am comparing Carr to Harrington to see who would be a better back-up. Here are the options:

Carr vs. Jax :D

Harrington vs. Minn :D

There are slim pickins left on the waiver wire for QB and those are the best options (others available are Volek, Rattay, etc.) :D

********The only other option I would consider would be Eli Manning as the Giants play SF. Very tempting against a prous D, but haven't seen Manning in action yet. :D

Please help a brother out.

As always, thanks and looking forward to another Huddle season with some Hugh advice! :D

Well, I personally think Harrington sucks. I think Carr is a decent QB, having a poor pre-season. Week 1, if I had to start 1, I think I'd start Carr, even with the tough matchup, but I wouldn't expect too much. For the season, as a backup, definitely Carr.

Thank hugh. Would you consider Stallworth vs. ATL over Lelie? At this point I'm starting Holt & Boldin. Lelie or Stallworth would be the third.

Ok I need a little help.

Standard scoring, start QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K, D

*Portis, Wash v. Chic.

*A.Green, GB @ DET

Martin, Jets @ KC

rest of bench

Davenport, Benson, Suggs

So I'm kinda torn between Green and Martin, both have good matchups

Rest of starters

P.Manning, Driver, S.Smith, McMichael, Akers, NE D

going againts

Delhomme, J.Jones, M.Anderson (Dillon), Wayne, S.Moss, Pollard, Kaeding, Buff D (Balt D)

His RB scare me a little but I'm hoping Manning makes the difference

Thanks Hugh!

Yepper. You got it right. Play Portis and Green. Personally, I think CuMar is not going to have a very good year, but I thought the same thing last year. :D

I think I'd try the rookine and Arrington. Arrington is going to get his chances in the Dennis Green offense, and the Giants defense while decent, isn't great. Too many question marks in Oakland, as well as a tough matchup, which would lean me towards benching Jordan if I have other options. I wouldn't start Brown either. Like you said, bad offense. Miami is another team where there isn't a single offensive player worth starting right now.

Good luck.

I posted this in another thread...I'm interested in your opinion.

12 team league, standard performance scoring, start 2WRs, 2RBs and 1 Flex.

My Roster:

RBs:  Priest, JJones, Jordan, MAnderson, WParker, MMoore & RMoats

WRs: AJohnson, MiClayton, LEvans, BEdwards

Other Guy's Roster:

RBs:  Arrington, Fargas, Toefield

WRs: Harrison, DDriver, Stokley, Lloyd, MRobinson, Patten & Stallworth

(rookie who thought there would be plenty of RBs left later in the draft and never caught on when everyone else was drafting primarily RBs :D )

I'm thinking of offering Jordan & Anderson for Arrington & Harrison.  It obviously makes my WRs stronger, but is Arrington enough of a wash with Jordan to make the upgrade at WR worth it?  I'm worried that I'm just upgrading my WRs while downgrading my RBs and coming out even except with less RB depth.  Your thoughts?

Thanks in advance

963509

If you can make that move, make it. You have the RB depth to do it, and you get another start back at the RB position, while significantly upgrading your WR corps.

(See team info in sig.) 3 questions.

Would you start Caddy or Willie Parker at a flex spot?

Who would you start at the other flex (wr/te) from the list below?

B. Lloyd

G. Lewis

A. Bryant

T. Taylor

or pick up M. Jenkins/ T. Calico / Reggie Williams for one of those guys and start him?

Thanks Hugh. Clad you are doing this again. Always appreciate the help.

More of a who should I stash than a would should I start but I'll ask anyway.

I have Edge/Lamont/Barlow/Mewelde as my RBs(start 2)

We can hold 5 Rbs on our rosters so I want to fill the last spot.

Who would you rather have...

William Green CLE

Cleveland RBs are a platoon

L Toefield JAX

Shelton CAR

Not much of a platoon here but Toe and SHelton are both an inury away as I see it. Who is most likely to go in first and stay?

I am really concerned with my receivers. I have been trying to work a trade ever since the draft. That said, here is who I am thinking to start....sound right to you?

QB McNabb (obvious)

RB1 DD

RB2 Westy

WR1 Ashlie Lelie

WR2 D.Mason (scares me) :doah: :doah:

WR3 J.Smith (also scares me a little) :D

Thanks in advance Hugh!

Can you tell me who to start in the MVP Challange? :D LOL Kidding.

Hugh-

Debating on who to start in my WR/RB flex position in a standard performance scoring league.

Here are the crappy choices:

S. Davis vs. NO

J. Bettis vs. Ten

C. Rogers vs. Green Bay

B. Engram vs. Jac

Not sure if either of the RB's are starting? The WR's are not great either - Rogers has a good matchup but the Lions OFF has looked horrible.

Any thoughts? Team in sig.

Thanks!

Wow. Tough. As much as it pains me to say it, I'd probably go with Roy and say a few Hail Mary's.

The first one is easy, start Caddilac.

My method for the second question involves a dart board. And the winner is: Brandon Lloyd. :D
