What's wrong with OU?

Recommended Posts

Offense can't get anything going against a second rate D and Defense is getting walked on.

:doah: Could be a long year for Sooner fans in the Post-White year.

Where's Peterson???

This could become a trend..............quickly.

Contain Peterson and you can beat them with no problems

Peterson may have already lost the Heisman in the first week, so much for my preseason pick. :doah:

This says it all. Peterson won't get the same "drop back" defenses to face this year. 8 men in the box and maybe 9.

Although a poor year may drop his draft status, I'd just love to have this kid as a pro. I may not like OU, but Peterson will be hugh in the NFL, imo. Has all the tools.

If this statement is true, you've posed a very interesting comment . Coaches have a bigger responsibility than winning by 30,40 or 50.............don't they? I thought the BCS took the winning margin out of the formula last year? Am i incorrect?

MOV may have been taken out from the direct calculation, but:

-it still figures into the computers' ratings, which is a part of the overall formula.

- it impacts the poll rankings of the voters who don't watch all or many of the games.

I'm not saying this is the only reason Oklahoma will stink this year, but it's important. Tressel always empties the benches. The 27-13 scores may look ugly to the pollsters, but his teams get better over the year because scrubs get valuable PT.

This surpasses our victory against UT in '91.

Now Peterson knows how it felt to be Darren Sproles last year after he lost his QB ... well but Darren still gained yards ...  :D

True, Adrian has a long way to go ...

From NFL.com:

One of the most prolific runners and all-purpose performers in college football history, Sproles rushed for a Kansas State career record 4,979 yards, a figure that ranks 11th all-time on the NCAA career rushing chart and third on the Big 12 Conference career record list. He also totaled a conference-record 6,812 all-purpose yards, which ranks sixth on the NCAA's career list.

In all, Sproles set 23 records while at Kansas State, including virtually every career, single-season and single-game mark for both rushing and all-purpose yards. He holds the KSU records for both career touchdowns (48) and career rushing touchdowns (45). Sproles totaled an incredible 24 career 100-yard rushing games, with five 200-yard rushing performances, and averaged 110.6 yards per game during his career.

NFL, graduation, youth. That about sums up the Sooners problems.

2 inexperienced QB = no QB

OL graduated 3 of 5 starters

Several Wrs are gone

Dan Cody is gone

And there are more im sure.

Expectations were rediculous for this team to be ranked in the top 10 to start the season with so many key players gone.

I am afraid this may happen to USC next year, assuming Bush and White leave early, so I am going to really enjoy this year and hope for the 3-pete....

Couldn't happen to a better team. Was hoping Lineart would have left for the 9ers this year. This year would be the 2-peat if you are talking about the BCS Championship.
