Fire Mike Sherman thread

I know Sherman isn't the GM anymore (thank God, but that 1st round pick SURE is helping THIS year Thompson!). Regardless, on the day that we honor the greatest defensive lineman of all time (Reggie White if you're from another planet), our sh*tty, sh*tty defense doesn't record ONE sack, ONE INT or even ONE fumble recovery! Terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!!

Mike Charmin has personally ruined this franchise. I don't want to hear any crap about Favre being old. How old was Elway when he won two Super Bowls? He had a great offensive line and a great running game. He also had a heck of a defense too. We have no defense at all. I love Nick Barnett, but that's about all that Sherman has ever drafted there. Carroll and Thomas are terrible. Nice tackling again this year Mark Roman. KGB is a 3rd down specialist, he's a poor man's Derrick Thomas trying to play all 3 downs. Kampman has heart, but not enough talent to be an every down contributor in the NFL.

Every year Charmin lolly gags out of the pre-season and falls flat on his face to start the year. 0-2 this year and 1-4 or such previously. Good luck recovering this year from a crap start. Tampa is playing solid D, we'll be lucky to score 16 on them. Same with Carolina. HOPEFULLY we can beat NO, then on to the Baggie Dome in Minnescrotum. Ok, 2 wins maybe. Cincy will pound us, as will Pitts and Atlanta. @ Philly? When is the last time we won there?

6-10 if we're lucky, no playoffs, no way you can expect Favre to come back to this crap again. Thanks for everything Brett, you're the best. Mike Charmin, I hope you're a TE coach Division 3 UW-Oshkosh next year, that's about your best place in life.

And no, I'm not 'turning on my team.' I love the Pack, but I hate the coach.

My next reason to fire Mike Sherman NOW.

0-3 to start a season for the first time since 1988. Losing to Tampon Bay at home for the first time since 1989.

Sherman not only sucks, HISTORICALLY he sucks!!

Thompson, Harlan, PLEASE fire Mike Sherman right now!!!!!

First, somebody needs to fire that God-awful officiating crew. They spent the first 2 and 1/2 quarters trying to lose the game for the Packers, then it was painfully obvious that they were giving them make-up calls. :D Just horrible.

I don't think we should fire Sherman quite yet, but I will say I'm tired of all the (legitimate) penalties, and that's usually a product of the coaching. They obviously need more discipline on both sides of the ball.

My list of what GB needs to do:

1. Stop the penalties.

2. Pay the refs more than the other team.

3. Let Barry play OG when we're trying to establish the inside run.

4. Stop worrying about the U-71 package until it starts working.

5. Proclaim Carroll the starting #2 CB and LEAVE HIM BE.

6. Replace Roman with Little.

7. Stop blitzing in crucial situations -- KGB and Kamp are proving to be solid pass rushers.

8. For God's sake, rediscover the screen pass!

9. Let Davenport run more.

10. Play Cullen Jenkins as much as possible, preferably next to Fat Grady.

I am so tired of hearing Packer fans complain about officiating.

Gruden thought the officials sucked as well; I don't recall him wearing a foam cheesehead during the game.... :D

Those refs were AWFUL; has nothing to do with who the calls were for or against.

Big deal, I know enough Packer fans to know they wine about the "non calls". Hell, even Favre wines about no pass interference call almost everytime he throws and incomplete pass. Get over it already and play football.

Doesn't help when your kicker misses a FG and XP in a 1 point loss. :D

So I take it you were the only Viqueen fan who hated Cris Carter?

The officials made terrible calls/non-calls against BOTH teams today. From my perspective, they screwed the Packers repeatedly in the first half and then shamelessly tried to make up for it by calling the rest of the game in the Packers' favor. It was obvious. Every time a penalty was questionable in the 2nd half, they ruled against the Bucs.

I don't want favortism and I don't usually b*tch about officiating, but those guys out there today didn't deserve a paycheck.

Two things that aren't in dispute:

1. Donald Driver scored a TD with 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter. Kelly bumped him, Driver caught it anyway, got up without being touched and ran into the end zone. The refs called that wrong and cost the Packers almost 3 minutes on the clock, which could have meant an extra possession late in the game.

2. KGB scored a TD on Griese's fumble. Obviously, the refs made fools of themselves and had to admit it over the loudspeakers at Lambeau. That horrible whistle not only cost us 7 points, but its indirect result was TB running another 3:54 off the clock.

I think it's fair to say that those two things, plus the two amazing INTs by Will Allen, were the differences in the game.

When Sherman was hesitant with the flag, I was yelling at my wife that he should throw it - make the refs admit the f'ed up.

I don't understand why referees are so quick with the whistle when situations like the Griese fumble have been happening for years now. Let the sequence play out, blow the whistle and make the call, then review if necessary.

I'm sure the flip side is that "what happens if someone gets injured because they didn't blow the whistle?" IMO injuries are so random, worrying about them happening because of this or that is just stupid.

:D You got me. The officials are friggin' INSTRUCTED to keep the whistles away from their mouths on plays like that, but they just can't resist.

What made me even more pissed off were Troy Aikman's comments after they blew the whistle and he saw the first replay. He immediately starts calling it a "great call" and praises the ref being confident enough to blow the whistle. Two minutes later and 3 replays later, he's berating the official for screwing up. Aikman doesn't usually bother me, but he was getting on my LAST nerve today.

5 minutes left in the game, Packers ball, down by 1 point, 3rd down and 8 yards to go...

Aikman: "This is a crucial 3rd-down play for the Packers." :D

Maybe we can hire Pete Carroll?

I didnt like the Sherman hire at the time, and I'm still not happy with it now. I don't understand his play calling... I'm pretty happy with last years draft, as I think Collins and some other guys are going to be very good. I think Sherman coaches this year, next year, then Bates takes over.
