sundaynfl
Michael Bennett - RB, Minnesota Vikings 09/19/05 The Pioneer Press reports that Minnesota Vikings RB Michael Bennett was pulled for two series after a first quarter fumble Sunday, Sept. 18th. After returning to the game and fumbling again, Bennett was benched for the rest of the game. While he did not blame anyone else, Bennett was discouraged the team didn't let him stay in the game after gaining 36 yards on his first three carries. Offensive coordinator Steve Loney considers Bennett's fumbles a troubling sign. Huddle Up: Mewelde Moore was the main beneficiary from Bennett's benching, if you can call it that, gaining 29 yards on eight carries and seven yards on two receptions in the loss to Cincinnati. Moore will most likely start this Sunday against New Orleans if Bennett remains in Mike Tice's doghouse. I know it's not the same thing but you would think they find Dante's 10 turnovers a troubling sign.
kcmast
You don't pull your team leader and that's exactly what they made him when they removed Moss.

The line blocking and play calling need to improve.
T-Scorp
I was thinking the exact same thing! You bench Bennett because he had two fumbles but you let Daunte play after 2 fumbles (albeit they were negated by offsides penalties) and 5 interceptions!!!! Yes, Daunte is your team leader, but Bennett had three very nice carries and the running game was working. If you are going to show confidence in a Duante by letting him stay in you need to do the same for Michael.

(he won a Superbowl with the Buccanears a few years ago, and was the reason Culpepper was drafted by the Vikings-we used Washington's 1st round pick on him after we traded Brad to the Redskins) Not sure if you watched the game but the announcers were pointing out that there were open receivers on almost every play, Daunte was just not seeing them or locking onto one receive. Bennett, outside of collecting a paycheck, not too much.
alexgaddis
12 turnovers in 2 games isn't enough to warrant a change... oh wait...

Rovers
Everyone likes to point to Moss' departure, but that is only half of the source of the problem..... the other half is the Vike's O line. It sucks.
