From the team reports, here is some info on their corners: --CB Randall Gay was walking on crutches Monday in the locker room after injuring his lower left leg against the Panthers. He won't likely play in Pittsburgh. --CB Chad Scott did not make the trip to Carolina because of a shoulder injury suffered against the Raiders. He probably won't be available in Pittsburgh. --CB Tyrone Poole (left ankle) also sat out the Panthers game and will remain questionable this week. --WR Troy Brown may take some defensive reps this week in practice after the Patriots lost a third cornerback (Randall Gay) last week to injury. --CB Duane Starks likely will draw a start in Pittsburgh because of injuries to Tyrone Poole, Chad Scott and Randall Gay. Don't be surprised to see Hank Poteat brought back into the fold or perhaps even Troy Brown getting some defensive reps in practice this week. The Pats are down to three healthy cornerbacks, including inexperienced rookie Ellis Hobbs. So, the question is: will Pittsburgh be able to take advantage of this? The Steelers aren't known for their passing game, but it has generated 2 TDs in the past 2 meetings w/ NE. With Parker's breakaway ability, teams have to make sure the safeties can provide help to bring him down, and this seems to have helped out the passing game. Granted Pittsburgh has faced subpar defenses in Ten and Hou. However, with all of that said Do you think Pitt will be able to take advantage of NE secondary, or will Bill B scheme his way to confusing Big Ben? The thing that gets me is NE has no depth at CB yet they carry how many WR/TE's? Maybe cut loose Fauria or someone else and get some D help back there. So this isn't really a WDIS ?, just a general question about their secondary. Carolina didn't excel against them last week, they did damage on the ground. I am guessing Pitt will do the same, but why don't teams try to pick apart their secondary more? Hopefully Pitt will line up Miller a bit on the flanker spot and let him get some underneath stuff without the linebackers around. He's got great hands. The longtime Philadelphia Eagle was recently released by Seattle and is known as a physical outside corner. The numbers have begun to thin with Randall Gay (ankle) joining Tyrone Poole (ankle) and Chad Scott (shoulder) among the injured ranks Sunday at Carolina. The kid's got speed and great instincts. If the Pats depth at CB becomes more of a problem this year, I bet he gets a crack at the job before Taylor or any other fa.
