Front Row
Real? fake? #3 smile looks genuine If anyone is questioning the validity of the 412 # deer. I was the one that found the deer after 12 hours of looking. You would think that would not be that hard to find but 2 guys actually walked within 25 yards of it and never saw it! He went about 7-800yards without bedding Shot too high at 5 yards and only got 1 lung. Stan, My partner on that trip had hunted as hard as he could for 10 days and finally got a shot on a good one and thought he blew it. It bleed good for 300 yards and quit. That night he was as low as a hunter can get after a week of hard cold hunting and on one of the last days getting your chance and blowing it. (I got to experience this during the next leg of my trip personally) He keep telling us that something wasn't right about this deer, he was like an obese person trying to move through the woods. He was right. We were loaded up and headed out. I had one stand to pull and wanted stan to go with me to make sure I was safe then I suggested we go take one last look for the deer. 4 hours later I was standing over it in amazement. I walked back to the truck to try find Stan and an hour later he came running up the moutain grinning from ear to ear for he had stumbled up on the deer as well. Talk about hitting a HIGH.4 of us including the game warden did all we could to load it in the truck. I have the only pix and haven't even sent them to Stan yet for I am holding them hostage until I get my 5 year old gps full of data from 15 states back from him! I have them on disc but don't know how to post them. Somebody tell me and I'll show something unreal! They do grow bigger deer up north but this is still an anomoly. His chin neck measurement for taxidermy was 30 inches. I think forms top out at 29" HERE IS MORE. Arkie Bass or should I say "conspiracy theroist" Why can't you just take a guys word for it espec. When you see the pix might I add with a Game Warden in the photo! How many times have we been through this before on here, when someone kills a giant deer it wouldn't be complete unless somebody throws doubt at the authenticity of the picture! Stan (the red faced fellow) doesn't have that ear to ear grin for no reason, the bow is real, it is a Mathews 34" long and this is as legitimate as they come in every aspect of the story and harvested in accordance to the regulations of this particular State. Period. How am I so sure of this? I am the one in the picture in the green shirt next to Stan. I took the rest of the pix with my camera and developed them at Walgreens, if you still want to talk "photo shop" etc. I am the only one who has the pix (Stan is still mad that I haven't found time to mail them to him yet) and will gladly send you a negative to develop if that will satisfy your doubt. Thanks for the confidence and keeping us all pondering. I'm a believer, any photoshop pro's think it's been worked ? I can't help but wonder how old the big guy was. Hat Trick
This looks genuine. That is a huge deer. FWIW I have been hunting for 18+ years. I see no reson to discredit the story.

Guest Sores
So someone killed a big fat deer. So what? Doesn't even look that big if you ask me. I was expecting something more along the lines of the hogzilla pictures from a year ago or so.

This is a HUGH deer.

It was fat...but not 400lbs. I like this freak better anyway. Edited January 11, 2006 by Sores

And the link you posted, that deer might not even top 200 lbs. And for the record I would much rather shoot the 400 pounder over the one you posted. Although I have shot over 100 deer and that one just doesn't impress me much at all.

I wouldn't shoot a deer anyway....unless you taught him to shoot and gave him a gun and scope to shoot back from a distance. Where is the sport in shooting an unarmed animal? Does it give you wood? More power to you if that's what you enjoy...I have a lot of friends who hunt and have been out with them....just never tripped my trigger (so to speak). Front Row
Where is the sport in shooting an unarmed animal? Whitetail are armed with incredible instincts, if you ever tried to get close to one you would understand the "sport". That rack was real freaky, but i have never seen body mass like the one posted, genuine Angus whitetail
