I know it's been in beta testing for quite some time, in fact a long time. Anyone have the scoop on an official release? ie6 sucks and for some reason mozilla and my pc configuration/software/os is problematic for me.

My sources tell me it may only be released as part of Vista, the next OS after XP. Vista is due in December. That said, I think it's possible MS will release an XP version to try and counter Firefox, which is chowing up the browser market.

This message typed on Firefox. :D

here's a nice little movie for you that shows how the "new" features of vista are already in the marketplace on the mac. the narrator is talking about what's coming in vista while the images are from safari and the mac. like it or not, the mac has been moving at light speed compared to microsoft ...

While I have been using Firefox for the most part at home, I still occasionally use IE. In the past couple days it has become maddeningly slow to start up and to open new windows. I have done full system scans with Adaware, spysweeper and Norton and found nothing that would be causing the problem....any ideas?

That's the problem right there, methinks.  It's bogged down.
