Duchess Jack
Right now I am looking at a redraft... what you have to look at zooty is being that the league is so deep....folk that you get in round 13 will be no different than those in round 18. We are going to need the depth to find that diamond in the rough
Savage Beatings
You would get any single homer player rated in the top 25 or any two players rated 26 or lower or any three rated 51 or lower.... Then we kick off the draft... ((folk who kept two people will miss the final round, folk that kept three will miss the final two rounds)) 1473172 It just seems to me that this is rewarding the owners of the better NFL teams by guaranteeing them higher ranked players before the draft even begins at the expense of losing a scrub pick or two at the end of the draft. Or am I reading this wrong?

Or am I reading this wrong? 1480951 Again... I am completely up for suggestions.... this is the way I see it though .... 32 deep.... If somebody takes somebody in the top 25.... he will likely not get another player until way way way later... (just consider owners will take one, two or three players off the top as discussed). whereas somebody taking two players 25-50 or three players 51+ will have much greater depth in what should be a really watered down talent pool (32 teams) We could also add that folk who keep 3 players 50+ can draft first in the snake draft... nothing here is concrete.... just thinking aloud. Duchess Jack
The biggest problem I see is the people without folk 1-50.... Maybe they get four off the top... ((that would also assure that people who are fans of the Jets and such will get the best of their team - so they don't need to worry about filling their rosters with the worst of a bad team later on - they don't have to fight other owners to their homer quota)) so.... 15 people keep folk in the top 25.... (15) 10 people keep folk in 26-50 (20) 7 people keep folk 50+ (28) That takes 63 people off the board..... then thr draft starts... so ultimately its a depth issue.... Duchess Jack
the latest proposal I want everyone to weigh in on... Keep in mind, the objective here is to keep teams as competitive as possible while keeping some idea of homer teams... 18 rounds... 7 homer player quota... Each homer gets his/her team's D and kicker and one of the following.... ((Firstly.. we need a top 250 that we can all agree on)) Either 1 Homer from the top 25 or 2 Homers from 26-50 or 1 Homer 26-50 and 1 other player 51+ after people have claimed their homers but before the draft starts or 4 Homers 51+ or 3 Homers 51+ and 1 other 51+ after people have claimed their homers but before the draft starts or 2 Homers 51+ and 2 other player 51+ after people have claimed their homers but before the draft starts at first glance complicated, but not really. Folk just need to worry about their own team... let us know who all they are claiming and we cross all those players off our lists. The folk taking people 51+ from other teams pick from who all is remaining and than we have our draft. Duchess Jack
Bonehand brought up a wonderful question... what all do we do when our homer team has a bye-week? We would effectively lose our kicker and D any suggestions? I guess we could take the average of all the Ds and the kickers for that week, but that is a lot of work and I am not sure how we'd do that. Tough question.
Duchess Jack
Bonehand came through for us. We mirror the NFL schedule.... and than we do not need to worry about byes.... I guess this brings into question how many times you play the people in your division.... hmmmm.... well, whatever the case... if we work with byes and have each bye coinside with their respective homer's byes... that could work. Duchess Jack
Okay... I put together a schedule last night that allows all teams to have their respective byes... but also allows them to play everyone in their division twice. Because of the way the schedule is set up (lot of cross conferance games as we were forced to due this because of the byes)..... I figure we will have division leaders go to the playoffs w/o wildcards and no bye week... I like the bye week but to do this... four team will have been awarded a bye... so in each conferance.... 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3. The winners of these games go to conferance championships. and the winners of those games go to the Superbowl. This will cover weeks 13 and 14 with the superbowl in week 15 I guess if we wanted to use byes.... we could.. and would push towards week 16... guess it is time to get a board set up... if anybody wants a copy of the schedule I made, PM me. If you don't dig it, you are more than welcome to give it a try.

wirehairman
Can't take FULL credit. HFA does it that way as well (Thanks, Zooty). 1481624 Here is the actual rules section on the schedule from HFA, and I think it is very well thought out for a 32 team league with a homer theme. 5.1 Schedule The length of the regular season will be 12 weeks. Weekly Schedules will mirror that of the NFL team. The entire season lasts 16 weeks, with 12 weeks of regular season games, three weeks of playoffs, and one superbowl. The Regular Season lasts through week 12 and there will be double headers on week 1 which will include the week 13 matchup, week 2 (includes week 14) week 10 (includes week 15) week 11 (includes week 16) and week 12 (includes week 17).
