Baseball is 2-3-2. Hockey is 2-2-1-1-1.

Basketball used to be 2-2-1-1-1, but was changed in the 80s because of travel shcedules between the Celtica and Lakers.

In any case, I think the schedule is just an excuse. If you want to win the NBA championship, you have to be able to win on the road. Miami proved it could.

So in retrospect, this was a weak finals... Dallas lost a golden opportunity because they had no idea how to win. Miami won with a great player and a bunch of old veterans. Either one of these teams would have been beaten down in the playoffs 10 years ago. When a 50 year old Shaq is outplaying the best player on the Mavericks the results are predictable.

It may have been a weak finals in comparison to some other previous champions, but as a standalone event, these were a heck of a good series of games in terms of being on a knife edge.
