Hat Trick
Cliaz - my advice to you is to take the high road out: give your 2 week notice and show up for 2 weeks. Don't burn a bridge or give them room to provide a bad reference. it's VERY hard for formere employers to give bad references nowadays anyways but CYA, know what I mean? other than that: sometimes the best thing you can do in your life is to say "no." That and they might give you some severance pay, based ont eh shaddy stuff you've said they have done that ain't happenin, however don't burn the bridge. twiley
I fear that all of this advice may be too late.
ABearWithFurniture
Never quit a job unless you already have another one lined up. hmmm...that may not apply in the IT field...I've quit several jobs, went fishing for a few weeks/months, and then went right back to work when I felt like it, generally at the same or a higher salary. Great thing about IT is that 93% of all businesses utilize some type of IT solution...we are in demand baby!
Hat Trick
Who's thinks Cliaz and his boss are in a fist fight right about now? His boss had better watch out cause Cliaz has some quick feet
Hitman
There are probably more jobs like yours out there than the kind that you are hoping to find with fairness, equality and all that good stuff. Good luck, and don't make any irrational decisions. At least cool off first...... Edited June 7, 2006 by Hitman
Brentastic
I think Cliaz and his boss are having make up sex right now.

Caveman_Nick
I'm guessing that the debate over stock options is at this point moot.

Caveman_Nick
So I asked the one dude Jon round about question about working late and on the weekends and he tells me "That's what we tell you management because there is no way we're doing shiiiit work." Like they are above that crap! We've been busting our humps for months doing their grunt work for them because we thought they needed the help and those son-of-a-b1tches are wearing straw hats and taking naps. I've missed BBQs and family gatherings because of this. Right before my boss went into this quick meeting I told him I'm not doing it and he told me yes I am and if I didn't like it I can find somewhere else to work because he is sick of people complaining to him. I hardly ever complain to him. You know...as I think about this, I try and compare this behavior to reading and posting on the Huddle and various other message boards during the day.... myhousekey
Anyone else get that feeling that security was just called? (Visions of Cliaz being escorted out to the sounds of "Take this Job and Shove it" playing in the background) Edited June 7, 2006 by myhousekey

chiefjay
At this point Cliaz is agreeing with his boss that the Engineers are a bunch of turds and there's not much he can do about it at this point. He's trying to escalate the issue but he's not getting much support from his boss. Eventually a few tears are shed and the Cliaz comes back here and tells us he told his boss off and got out of working this weekend and future weekends and can have that mold of fake poop in his cubicle that he was told to take down last year. But there is still a pay freeze.
dread
I need some closure here, what the hell happened cliaz? Probably on his way home with a copier-paper box filled with his possessions.

TimC
That plan of staying home, doing nothing but laying around in a bathrobe drinking cheap Scotch watching Price Is Right while raising the kids so Mrs. Cliaz can return to work to pay the bills seems so close now. Egret
I hated my first teaching job. It was a bad, bad, bad place to work. I really wanted to quit, but I was newly married. I also knew that quitting without having a new place to land would be a bad idea for me. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Savage Beatings
Cliaz? CLIAZ??? Are you there? I...I can't see you! Hope he didn't do something rash... but if anybody here could go out in a true blaze of glory, I'm guessing it's Cliaz.
