skylive5
Allen Cunningham is the only big name player still in the tourney. #1 on my list. He needs to tighten up his game now and head to the final table with decent chips.

Easy n Dirty
Just for context, they are currently playing level 24, which is blinds of 12k/24k, and an ante of 4k - so one orbit around the table costs 72k - and there is 72k in the pot each hand after the blinds are posted. Average stack is currently $1.95m. They will play today down to 27 players. Each player still in is guarnateed at least a $247k payday. TimC
Annie Duke was just eliminated in 88th place. I'm not sure of the hand details yet. Allen Cunningham is the only big name player still in the tourney. Thanks for the updates. Another year with a no-name rookie, huh?

I recall seeing him a few times in some tournies.

Sure those are both bigger names, but no one in our little game picked either one, hence the reason they were not included in many of my updates. True. I think I took Brenes last year but forgot about him this year. If Danneman can come in 2nd place then anyone can win it. I guess the same theory applies to Moneymaker as well. TimC
Apparently you don't consider Allen Cunningham (#31) a very big name... I meant only one or two pros. It's like watching the WPT now. Basically an all-in fest pre-flop. I prefer the PPT where some good players actually make it through.
Big Country
I prefer the PPT where some good players actually make it through. Perhaps that is because the PPT is made up of only invited pros that qualified based on their accomplishments in poker. What I like about the PPT is that they show the tournament throug hal lof its stages. And blinds are so low now compared to average stack that it will be far from an all-in fest. But, all-ins are what make for "dramatic" TV that the non-poker playing community can get into, thus they are what get televised. I prefer the mid-round hands that define the tourney that we get to see in the PPT. Edited August 7, 2006 by Big Country
Easy n Dirty
Saddharth Jain Takes Pot No Limit Hold'em Main Event Aug 07, 2006 / 15:15:59 EDT Saddharth Jain raised preflop to 97K from middle position, and Jamie Gold called from the big blind. The flop came Q66, Gold checked, Jain bet 160K, and Gold called. The turn came 10, and both players checked. The river came Q, Godl bet 125K, and Jain called. Jain showed J8, Gold mucked and Jain took the pot with jack high. After the hand, Gold was down to 6.95 million, and Jain is up to 3.465 million in chips. How do you make that call at the end with Jack high? Heckuva' call IMO.
TimC
How do you make that call at the end with Jack high? Heckuva' call IMO. If the guy was shaking like a leaf when he bet. Remember Sam Farha last year telling that internet guy to "stick to the internet" after he tried to bluff but caught the winning card on the river. TimC
You guys keeping up with the Greg Raymer/Daniel Negreanu fight? Raymer said he was "glad" DN was knocked out and DN responded in his blog. It's mostly about the lawsuit against the WPT. I know alot of people think Raymer is a nice guy, but they say he's a real tool in real life. ESPN didn't show the coverage of him being an ass. Plus, he pulls a Skins and says DN doesn't know what he's talking about with the WPT lawsuit because DN isn't a lawyer.
wildcat2334
Saw that- Ramer is a dork- nice guy maybe, fine but what a geek. DN on the other- seems real cool, plus he hangs with the big boys- Ivey, Forrest, Doyle, Lindgren etc- Raymer is making a mistake gettin personal with DN. I mean who would you rather kick it with in Vegas, go out boozing with? Raymer?
muck
Chip leader (Jamie Gold ... another good WSOP main event winner name like Moneymaker) has $13,200,000 ... and the second place guy has only $5,900,000. Only one other player has more than $3.75 million chips.
budlitebrad
David Einhorn has just told Cardplayer.com that he has pledged all of his tournament winnings for the Main Event to charity. Einhorn has decided to give whatever he makes in this tournament directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease. He's in second right now with about $8 mil. Finally I have someone to root for.
spain
Raymer seems like a nice guy but he is a complete dork. DN is a nice guy and is also a very cool guy. Raymer was way out of line coming out of left field and bad mouthing DN like that. But DN doesnt back down from his lard ass. I happen to agree with DN on this one and I like him alot better than Raymer...

Easy n Dirty
I would have thought they would be down to a final table by now. Did they stop play early yesterday or have an off day? I think yesterday was designated to play down from 45 players to 27. Like BC noted above, the stack sizes are extremely large right now relative to the blinds, so it's gonna' take awhile now to whittle this field down. EDIT - today they play down to the final table, which I believe is 9 players. Blinds are 25k/50k with a 5k ante, and average chip count is about 3.25 million, with 7 of the remaining 27 players hanging in at 1 million or less. We need to be able to see the players cards, but dont that info passed to the other players. Where is the link to order it? And a link to how it will work...
