Yes ... his profits from PokerStars alone allow him to make that call. Negreanu. Yes, probably. Doyle Brunson? Maybe. Phil Hellmuth. Yes, possibly...but, he rarely plays cash games ... which is where the biggest money is made. Who else has that kind of bankroll to risk that much on one sit at the table? The first time they played, which was the subject of Michael Craig's book (The Banker, The Professor and The Suicide King, great read for poker fans), I believe that it was Todd Brunson more than anyone else who did the most damage to Beal. The players showed: Jamie Gold Q9 Paul Wasicka 1010 The last two cards were A4, and Gold won the hand -- and the 2006 World Series of Poker Championship -- with a pair of queens. Paul Wasicka finished in second place, earning $6,102,499. Jamie Gold won the 2006 WSOP Main Event, earning $12,000,000, the most coveted bracelet in the world, and the title of World Champion.
