untateve
I have officially arrived in Asheville. Just me and the boys. I must say, my boys (7 and 9) are amazing travelers. We stopped for two bathroom breaks and one gas stop. We made an 11 hour drive in...11 hours. No complaints, no whining, etc. Tomorrow we'll be taking it easy and then, it's on to white water rafting, hiking, fishing, etc. Life is good. untateve
So far, We've done Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, we've hiked (4 miles) in Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park, and we went to the Cherokee Indian Museum. Tomorrw, we're going down to Chimney Rock and Wed it's Nantahala for whitewater rafting. We've eaten twice at the Mellow Mushroom. Good food and a nice beer selection. Life is good. Sir Loins of Beef
When you go to Chimney Rock-make sure you make it to Shining Rock the kids will love the white mica--also at night make it atop Table Rock when you look down into Linville Gorge you can see the Brown Mountain Lights--which are pretty cool considering the valley is uninhabited and the life is wildlife. Don't forget the t-shirts at the Nantahela Outdoor Center and try to stay out of the hydraulic at lesser Wesser. Have fun and make a memory.
