His theory would explain why eurasian contries top the list, but not why countries from the fertile crescent region rank much lower on the list. Because it is no longer fertile and the dead weight of fanatical religion being taught in schools to the exclusion of pretty much everything else has stupefied the people. Chavez Posted August 17, 2006 Share Posted August 17, 2006 IQ scores correlate VERY strongly with the size of vocabulary (unless they've changed the test radically in the past 10 years or so). I think intelligence is an interesting definition to discuss - there are numerous types of "intelligence" that can't necessarily be measured by a pen-and-paper test. Does Diamond explain why certain groups within a culture consistently score much lower on IQ tests? Lets say, people from inner city Detroit for example...
