Randall
LINK Carolina Panthers linebacker Dan Morgan will miss the remainder of the season, Coach John Fox said Wednesday. Morgan has been out with a concussion since the season opener. Fox said the decision came after Morgan met with team doctors and other specialists who advised them that it was not in his best interest to play this season. Fox said Morgan still wants to play next season.
Bill Swerski
Fox said Morgan still wants to play next season. Sounds like it'll be with a different team. It's unfortunate, because Morgan was a pretty solid player a few years ago.
piratesownninjas
I think its time he hangs it up... This guy is always getting hurt.
Savage Beatings
The Panthers D has not been scoring too many Fantasy points this year... is it time to cut them, and pick up a Chiefs or Cowboys type Defense... or will they come around? PSULions
The Panthers D has not been scoring too many Fantasy points this year... is it time to cut them, and pick up a Chiefs or Cowboys type Defense... or will they come around? I think the Panthers D will still come around. Anytime you have Peppers and a ball-hawking secondary like the Panthers do they will score good points for you. Will they be the #1 D at the end of the season? Highly unlikely, w/ the loss of Morgan. He is a terrific MLB when healthy and the Panthers signed him to a big contract hoping they could count on him being healthy all year, but we all know that is impossible. It is too bad for Dan that multiple concussions have derailed his season yet again, but I think it may be time for him to hang up the cleats so he can function for the rest of his life instead of having long-term effects from more concussions. I am not sure if the Panthers will keep him or cut him in the offseason, but the one thing you can count on is the fact the Panthers will either sign a really good MLB via FA or spend a top draft pick to get depth at the position. PSULions
Seward or James Anderson can't be the guy? Anderson may be in the mix, but Seward didn't look too look in the start he got earlier this season. Both have potential, but they are not at the level of Morgan. My best guess is that they will sign a FA or likely draft a 1st or 2nd rounder to add depth to the MLB position. Draft will be the start the rest of this year and he has been servicable and has the ability to play multiple positions. Looks like Thomas Davis had a really good game against the Browns and seems to be coming on recently. He could be the difference maker we need after losing Morgan for the season. I thought Anderson would become the WLB and Davis has been improving. You are 3-0 with Smith back and Draft starting. He is a good fill in. piratesownninjas
Both have potential, but they are not at the level of Morgan. Not many are. Too bad that he seems to be concussion prone. As someone who's had 5 of them, I can tell you it definatley sucks.

LooGie
the idea (so i hear) this year was to let Morgan run free ala Palamalu. Is there anyone coming out in next years draft that could have this quality? would it be smart to keep Morgan on the squad as a backup, and mix him in next year, say on 40-60% of defensive snaps, or is he just not worth the money unless he can stay healthy? which he can't of course. I know jack about def, so I'm just inquiring to try and figure this stuff out. I was going to post in the IDP, but it's not fantasy based. it's football based. PantherDave
It's time to cut bait here, the brain pan just can't handle it anymore. It's a tough call, but it's time to retire or play for another team. He is just to unreliable to be a starting NFL MLB.
