darin3
Swiss Miss: Oh yeah...I remember you telling me about that. Have fun, and tell the boys I said hello. Swiss: All other Huddlers: Fixed.. E2A: And I'm not saying we shouldn't plan stuff. We ended up scrambling a bit to find a good spot to watch the Thursday games, and in our semi-drunken stupor, scrambling wasn't exactly fun. Like I noted, I'm down to lead the expedition to find a suitable Thursday night spot, since I'm getting in rather early. And the Treasure Island meet-up a couple years ago was awesome. I'd be interested in doing something similar to that. And I am absolutely all for finding a good spot for Sunday. Hooters, last year, was acceptable but the TV situation was less than perfect. Let's continue to hammer it out... I'm sure we'll come up with a good plan of action. Edited July 7, 2008 by darin3
Big Country
Well, I guess we won't be doing any planning then. Seriously, I know it's early, and I'm not going to panic if we don't have a "plan" by next week. In fact, we had a blast back in '05, and I don't think any of us even knew beforehand who else was attending, much less where we were meeting up and when. The Friday night gathering, Saturday group dinner, and Sunday football festivities was all brought up before; I was just noticing that there really weren't any suggestions being floated (except for those by Bier in the other forum). And, as much fun as pure spontaneity can be, I also don't want to end up in a totally lame place that's completely unsuitable for large groups. I'm sure it'll all be figured out well in advance of the trip. Y'all have to remember something, though -- I'm coming with my wife, and we're staying with family. So, the sooner I have some sort of "plan," the lesser the chance of me being roped into some "family activities." Examples... Sept 7th, after zero planning: Swiss: Hey, honey. I just got a text from the boys. They're meeting up at <insert bar/casino name here> in a couple of hours, so I'm going to go jump in the shower. Swiss Miss: A couple of hours? You crazy? We're all going to the Olive Garden with your Dad and the boys. You can't spring this on me like this! Swiss: Sept 7th, after outlining the plan to her back in July/August: Swiss Miss: Hi, baby. You look really nice. Where are you going again? Swiss: I'm meeting the boys over at <insert bar/casino name here> in a couple of hours. Swiss Miss: Oh yeah...I remember you telling me about that. Have fun, and tell the boys I said hello. Swiss: Believe me -- this is how it works. I'm sure some of my married brethren can vouch. You could always just tell her we have plans that happened to change at the last minute.

Also, since I know you were worried, Swiss Miss will probably be attending most, if not all, of the Huddler festivities. The good thing about staying with family is that my dad & stepmom would LOVE to babysit our little dude while we're out having fun. And one of them might also be on standby for free minivan cab service. So, the wife should be able to participate as much as she wants. The Huddlers that will be hittin' up the gentlemen's clubs breathe a sigh of relief. But yeah, it'll be good to have someone to off-set your cheese-head-ness. Minivan cab service? How many Huddlers can you fit into a Chevy Astrovan? Now that is a funny thought!
Swiss Cheezhead
The Huddlers that will be hittin' up the gentlemen's clubs breathe a sigh of relief. I still remember asking the bouncer to find me a NATURAL (silicon-free) girl...then waiting 45 minutes. I actually found him on the other side of the club and asked him, "Dude -- did you forget about me?" He said, "No, man. I'm still looking." STILL the best lap dance I ever paid for. That girl was smokin'.
H8tank
Believe me -- this is how it works. I'm sure some of my married brethren can vouch. Burger bar? BARF. Those that need to know will, the rest will be close behind. If we're going to a nice dinner sat with 20 peeps, then we need to get a private room somewhere, room = free + food/drink$ Game Sat? Anywhere except orleans. Game Sun? Is hoooters a tradition yet?
The Wolf
I am game for wherever you guys want to eat...it's my first WCOFF and I am along for the ride! Working up to three drafts however, so I will try to schedule around our activities!
Gonkis
If this comes to fruition I'd be happy to provide quality Carhartt T-Shirts at my cost. Pick a color from here. Someone coordinate the quantity, sizes, etc. and I will place an order and have shipped to wherever they need to go. Someone could then get them screen printed. Would cost each of you $8.00 ($9.50 for 3X or 4X) that you could PayPal to me. I'm not sure what it will cost for a screen print or embroidery. Nice margin. 50% on a t-shirt, impressive. I can see you guys now running around in shorts, matching t's, and striped tube socks.

Big Country
So, been doing some snooping around for ideas of placesto eat at in Vegas or to watch the games. Came across one little gem that I am not sure if I should share with twiley or not, but, at least as of Fenruary of this year, the price for the Hilton buffet included all you can drink wine and draft beer. bushwacked
Last year me and misses stayed at Ceaser's Palace. This year me and Godtomsatan will be staying at the Imperial Palace. Thank you Nancy Pelosi!
msaint
Hey, let's all meet at Hooters again! Hope to see some Huddlers out there this year. Haven't made flight plans yet, but I think we're staying at the Hilton.
Bier Meister
Do we? I'm not trying to avoid responsibility in planning, but we haven't necessarily done this previously and we've managed to roll 15-20 deep just fine flying by the seat of the pants. Grant you we end up in lesbian bars and there has been vomit involved, but we survive. Fixed.. E2A: And I'm not saying we shouldn't plan stuff. I'm sure we'll come up with a good plan of action. while i don't think we need to plan every moment of every day.. i think it's a good idea to have a few destinations and times set (for those who don't have others' cells). 3 stand out to me: 1. where we are watching the game on thurs 2. where we are going for dinner (and how many)... should make reservations for the large group we have. 3. where we are watching games on sunday. Big Country
My simplistic plans, to make this easy - Thursday - land about 9pm. Get to hotel, clean up, find group. Friday - Register at WCOFF, probably go play some cards. Team meeting for final draft plans. Bed relatively early (midnightish) in prep for Sat. Draft. Saturday - Draft. Consume beer. Huddle Dinner I believe. Gamble it up. probably consume a little more beer. Sunday - Watch games somewhere. At some point, go play cards while watching games. Monday - Leave for airport by 10am.
