Puddy
Where is Az with all those stats from the other threads? Before the series Barry Melrose picked the Avs to win. Given how they were completely dominated in every game (yes even the two one goal games), that makes me happy. He's still pissed that the Wings didn't want him as coach a decade or so ago. Oh and where the hell did Johan Franzen come from?
TDFFFreak
The Rangers aren't lying down, that's for sure. Lets Go Pens !!!!! Happy to see the Rangers get a win... My first priority is obviously for the Flyers to finish off the Canadians with a 3-1 series lead(something they had a problem with the lesser Caps). My second wish is that the Pens get a little worn before finishing off the Rangers and (hopefully) facing the Flyers.

Az is in AZ for a family event...... i can only speculate that he might have responded: the wings are an excellent team, deserved of the #1 seed. the av's getting hit with injuries and not getting a full season for players to develop chemistry did not help their quest for the cup. congratulation and AY2FRWFcBM. :irishwinkie:
dabuffbills
Well it's about time the Rangers won one. Even though I've bashed Jagr all season, I'm starting to see his passion again and I'm seeing signs of the old Jagr. I guess I'll be a little sad if he decides to leave the league. Hugh 0ne
I blame one person and one person only for tonight's loss: Hugh One With him not in the arena: 7-0 With him in the arena: 0-1 Yeah, I hear ya, the good news is that I won't be in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Anyone that thought the Rangers would lie down doesn't know hockey and doesn't know the Rangers. I was pretty sure the Pens wouldn't sweep, and now they need to focus on Sunday and wrap this thing up in front of the home fans.

You've known Menudo long enough not to take anything he says about his homer team seriously. No one (except Menudo) is handing the Penguins anything, and as I've mentioned before, this Rangers series IS NOT over yet. Congrats on taking advantage of an under-manned and injured 'Lanche team, especially after looking so good against the #8 seed in the previous round. It wasn't me that said any of the garbage that you are trying to give me credit for. Please read the messages before you spew your inaccurate garbage about me. I have not ONCE said anything about the Penguins sweeping anyone. I've NEVER ONCE said that this series was over. I've never ONCE made any homer talk about the Penguins. I know that you will simply say that you landed a fish here, but, I think you are just assuming that I'm taking a homer stance, when I simply have not. Just nice to click on all cylinders against an undermanned team. Nice to get the secondary players playing so well. Hopefully Ozzie keeps it together and we should at least play Dallas well and hopefully if we get past them play the East tough. Always nice to be in the mix. Hard to beat the NHL playoffs and the last Canadian team is almost out. Poor CBC.

Stop taking yourself so f*cking seriously and thinking everything is about you. Yeah, I take myself REAL serious around here...... How did I make anything about me ? You made it about me. So, when you state something completely false about me, I shouldn't be allowed to defend myself ? If you were joking, then my apologies, but, I thought you were simply trying to lump me in with saying something, when I said the exact opposite, due to your feeling that I'm a blind homer. Menudo
I'll tell you what, a Pens-Flyers Eastern Final would be extremely exciting They both have their work cut out for them this round though. This should be a lot of fun !!!! +1 My stance on about officiating is well documented on this site. However, that was pretty bad last night, and if I were a Flyers fan, I would be pissed as well. I'll be rooting for the Flyers as well, even though, I think they are a tougher match-up IF the Pens get to the finals. A Flyers-Pens finals would be incredibly entertaining. That would be a fun series but we each still need a win and a series win against a tough opponent. Very true The Rangers aren't lying down, that's for sure. Lets Go Pens !!!!! Menudo
Yeah, I went. The first goal took the steam out of the place. The sixth goal blew the roof off. Hollweig's penalty and ensuing Pens power play goal was the dagger. You should definitely be seeing the final game of this series on Thursday. At this point, I can't see any team beating the Pens four times...maybe the Stars, but that's it.

Cameltosis
Ya know, it's amazing, for the 4 teams that make it through, they're all still only half way there. This is what makes the Stanley Cup the hardest thing to win in sports. With all do respect to the NBA this year, there is no other sport where the 8 seed is as close to the #1 seed. The playoff run is long and gruling. Momentum plays such a hugh role that you can never tell from one series to the next who will take charge. I do feel good about the way the Wings are playing right now. They have been able to control the puck and play their game more this year, so far, than they have been able to do since the last time Ozzie won one between the pipes. If they can keep this up they will be very tough to beat. The mule train has left the station. All aboard, woo woo!!!

The Darkside
Hey Darkside, I see you lurking. Care to weigh in about your Leafs? not really much to say about them, i keep hoping that whoever takes over this titanic will look at the success of teams like pittsburgh, detroitand to some extent philadelphia, who scout very well, draft very well, are not afraid to play the young kids in the nhl right way away rather than send them to the ahl. i am impressed by the flyers, i still do not think they should have broken the bank for briere, but going from worst to the (maybe) conference finals in one season is very impressive. the rangers, who i still think over spent (kinda throwing rocks at glass houses by saying someone else's team spend foolishly) made it in. but Pittsburgh far and away impressed me, they won without crosbey, and fluery. malkin proved he is evey bit a superstar and leader as crosby or oveckin. and they had the balls to pull the trigger and get hossa to soldify the top lines, plus adding the blueline help with hal gill. you get the feeling that if pittsburgh can keep this all together, they will be scary good for seasons to come. Sleeping King
Woohoo free hockey in San Jose tonight. Everytime I see Joe Thornton make a pass like that it brings a tear to my eye. Next time Morrow should just head butt the puck in.
