KICK A$$ BLASTER
Fellas, My wife and I are going to Vegas on Monday to celebrate our birthdays that are both coming up(mine is on Friday, I'm turning 40 ). Anyway, I need some recommendations for a good steakhouse. I know Ruth Cris does a mean steak, but I would like some other ideas. I have been to Smith & Wollenskys and that's not really an option, as I have been their before. Also if anyone has a good Italian restaurant they would like to recommend I would love to hear about that as well Some more information if you are interested. My wife and I are staying at the Wynn, at $129 a night. Sweet deal. I looked at the restaurants at the Wynn and nothing is really standing out..... Thanks in advance... There are a few Vegas veterans around here that could probably help you better then I can but when I was out there in May 2006 we ate at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill in Caesars and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The lamb chop was excellent. I wasn't impressed with the Wynn buffet and Wolfgang Puck's at MGM was easily the worst meal I have ever had. Unless you like poorly cooked meal and tiny portions stay away. Edited February 5, 2009 by ebartender

And I agree Flays is very good too. But Ogden get's my nod over Flay.

People rave about Stripsteak (in Mandalay Bay), but my wife and I went there over a year ago and both of us felt ill by how rich all the food was. Clearly we are in the minority, but I was extremely disappointed by Stripsteak. I had an AMAZING burger in Bradley Ogden @ Caesars. The steaks I saw flowing through looked top notch. And I agree Flays is very good too. But Ogden get's my nod over Flay. Bradley Ogden was a fantasic meal. It pricey, but a special meal that I really enjoyed. It's not a steak place really, but variety is the spice of life. As for steak, many think it's overrated and overpriced for what it is, but I really liked Prime at the Bellagio and the atmosphere is very posh and romantic. The Steakhouse at Circus Circus is often hailed by the locals as one of the best steakhouses on the strip. It was good and reasonably priced for a more formal steak house, but not sure if it's worth having to brave the stinky pit that is Circus Circus. Delmonicos (Emril's Steakhouse) at the Venitian was another good one. Nothing too outstanding, but a nice meal for a steakhouse. TimC
We had a steak at Delmonico at the Venetian that was to die for. It's also nice to walk around in that place and burn it off afterwards...or maybe even take a gondola ride with yer wimmins as a nice birfday present. Dangit, I love the Venetian more than should be humanly possible. $129 a night at the Wynn is sweet. I also heard the new Trump plush place that just opened is offering up $89 a night in February. Gawd-danged it, I need me some Vegas. Anyways, Happy Birthday, old man.

I attended a conference there and ate lunch every day in that little italian restaurant on the second floor of the main drag overlooking the canal. Loved it. As noted, you have to make it through the mob scene at Circus, but it is worth it. We only went to Circus to eat. The steakhouse is an oasis in that place. Memorable steaks and comfortable atmosphere.
H8tank
The best steak in Vegas? Easy. Charlie Palmer's Steak House inside the 4 seasons, which is inside Mandalay Bay, reservations suggested, but prices are very reasonable, steaks $40 or so. Do yourself a favor and head this advice, you will thank me later. The others mentioned? Might as well just go eat at Applebee's. :barf:
rocknrobn26
The Range Steakhouse @ Harrah's is very good, w/ a great view of the Strip and piano in the background.
TimC
Dangit, now I'm craving Applebees for lunch. When they melt that cheese on the steak with some shrimp to mask the poor cut of meat, it's better than a Denny's Gland Slam. I know where I'll be going for lunch now. It is a very nice resturant but getting to it is not so plush but overall this is my pick with all things considered. Do yourself a favor and head this advice, you will thank me later. Top notch and one that you will love. I spent more here than at any other steakhouse that I have ever eaten at in Vegas so I sort of debate if it was really worth it. I do like it for a top notch experince though. The Range Steakhouse @ Harrah's is very good, w/ a great view of the Strip and piano in the background. This one is a great suggestion as well. I have been there twice and was way happy each time. I would have no problem sending someone here. Edited February 5, 2009 by Skippy
Dutch Oven
I'll give another shout out for Flay's Mesa Grill. I really enjoy that place, and they have great steaks. For Italian, I enjoy going to Batitista's hole in the wall. It has a good atmosphere, good food, and all the wine you can drink with your meal. Plus, the old man with the accordion will play your state song for you, so you've got that going fo you.

When you're in the restaurant it doesn't even feel like Harrah's anymore.
Skilly
The Steakhouse at Camelot The best steak I ever ate was at this steakhouse in Excalibur. FWIW.
Scooby
I've also tried The Range twice, 1st time great, 2nd time so-so, other eateries I loved: Fix at the Bellagio, also The Bellagio buffet is the best, and I haven't eaten at Prime Steakhouse there, but heard a lot of good things about it
JoJoTheWebToedBoy
Wanna try something different???? Try Yolies And get the House's Special drink, damm tasty. A friend recommended this place to me and I checked it out Jan when I was at CES. Never been to a place like that, and it is now a must go everytime I head for Vegas Edited February 6, 2009 by JoJoTheWebToedBoy
Cunning Runt
Definitely agree with The Range. When you're in the restaurant it doesn't even feel like Harrah's anymore. Make that another thumbs up for The Range. Excellent food and atmosphere.
AtomicCEO
I remember going to Lowry's in Vegas and enjoying it. I don't remember the food too much, but the waitress had one of those traditional german boob dresses on with like 4-5 inches of cleveage showing, and she kept leaning over the table. Plus, she had this insane giggle which made her sound like she was batsh:t crazy... which is a real turn on for me for some reason. The other place I was thinking of was the Brazilian Steakhouse in the... umm... one of the big casinos... NYNY? Caesars? Something on that side of the street. They just kept coming by with meats and dropping them off on my plate. I've never pooped so much in my whole life.
