I just want to grow a plant with the rest of my house plants and do with it what I want, short of selling it, smoking it in public, driving around with it, etc.. Is that so wrong?

According to the federal gov't, YES. According to various state gov't..."YES" to "meh."

Also shocked that 5 people voted for option 4 for question #3.

At this point, it's just ridiculous that Pot is illegal. How can anyone with a level-head justify it? We're talking about a plant that you CANNOT overdose from, yet alcohol, which you can most definitely OD on, is legal and widely accepted. There are so many things wrong with this but I don't have the time to get into it all. Any common person (non-lawmaker) who agrees with making pot illegal is too close-minded to even have a discussion with - I'd love to know which huddlers fall on that side of the fence.

Pot and prostitution are:

Potentially hugh sources of government income wasted

Hugh wasters of police and court time, not to mention prison space

Free gifts to criminals

It is ridiculous to keep these two things illegal.

I think online poker rooms run in the states would also be hugh source of income.

The only thing that stops me supporting that all-out is that in most states it's the province of the Indians and I'd have a hard time with the state muscling in on that.

the canucks would not be happy about the Josh Gordon or the hemp that farmers could start growing here in the states. they have a monopoly right now on hemp in North America ..

I'm not talking about farming, I'm talking about having a plant inside my house that I can grow.

Take a lesson from Michael Phelps and get yourself a bong, my friend. Filtered, cooled, and condensed through the magic of H2O.

What makes you think I don't have one?

Poker and/or card games only. I don't think this would hurt the Native American casinos at all. Stick the servers in Nevada where regulation and oversight is already in place and cha-ching.

I smoked almost every day for about 10 + years . I enjoyed the hell out of it. I used to have a great time with it and laugh and enjoy the creative side of it. I havent smoked in years. The last time I smoked I got massively paranoid and didnt enjoy it . I guess from a monetary aspect it would be a good thing but from a society aspect it probably wouldnt be. For those that would smoke privately and not abuse it that would be fine but I can see a bunch of kids in their 20s getting stoned and driving all wacked out too and that isnt a good thing. I know they obviosuly do that now but if you legalize it it would be worse and tough to enforce.

if it is legalized it will have to be handled just like alcohol...it is a drug and it can impare your senses.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. I don't think anyone was arguing that it didn't make you inebriated.

Explain this concept to me:

Of the 47 people who have admitted to obtaining Josh Gordon in this thread... exactly zero of them have said it is difficult to obtain.

Your logic is that when I buy it from behind the counter at the Kwik-E-Mart instead of from Po-Town Mike's house after listening to his new 4-track recording that I will be more likely to drive while intoxicated.

Please make that make sense to me in a logical way.
