Brentastic
I found the best one here in Chicago but can't remember it's name (not IBC or anything popular). What's your faves huddlers?
Big John
When I lived by Milwaukee, Sprecher root beer.
Brentastic
I found this - 2 guys who did a root beer taste-test. Root Beer Taste Test E2A: Berghoff, IBC and Gales were rated the best in this blind taste-test. Gales, by their description, is the most intriguing to me (with heavy hints of vanilla). SheikYerbuti
Stewart's and IBC.
Pope Flick
It's gonna sound odd, but Walgreens is carrying corn syrup free, cane suger sweetened line of sodas. Root Beer is one of them. They're kind of extra crisp. The Black Cherry is delicious.

Chavez
When I lived by Milwaukee, Sprecher root beer. Sprecher out of Milwaukee . . . and it aint even close . . .IMO. Sprecher is the best I've had. Point Brewery makes a root beer as well but I haven't had it yet.

Brentastic
I'm a Ginger Beer fan myself. Never had that. Unless you're joking, can you point me in the direction of a good one? Sprecher's gets a 3.5 out of 5 from the two 'raters' I linked above. They rated my favorite (Virgil's) the same. Anyone ever have Gales? Gales sounds like it would be good with strong hints of cinnamon and vanilla, and it's rated 4.25 by the same crew. Obviously very subjective rating system, but it was pretty well thought out and it was a blind taste test.
godtomsatan
Never had that. Unless you're joking, can you point me in the direction of a good one? Reed's is pretty good. Some brands are a little too spicy and a little too sweet. Reed's is a good combo of bite and taste, IMO.

Funny, unless I'm reading the site wrong, Reeds Inc makes my favorite root beer, Virgil's. I'm definitely going to be on the look out for this stuff. I found the reviews and rating system interesting. if it was part of your initial post, [lt. kaffee] then why the need for a 2nd post? [/lt. kaffee]. i understand they did it. my taste buds are likely different than theirs, plus i'd like to experience it myself.

Plus, if they were serious enough about it to post it online and put that much effort in it - I figured it has to be pretty accurate. I hear ya though, just figured you likely won't actually do the taste test so this is a shortcut

Pope Flick
I wonder if the one down the street from me has these... They stock them in the fridge near the gatorades - they're packaged in liter glass bottles.
rajncajn
Barq's in the glass bottle, there's nothing that comes close and there are only two bottlers who still package it that way, one here (where Barq's was created) & one in Louisiana so they are fairly difficult to find. god how i miss Stewart's Stewart's is sold at any Cracker Barrel which I know you have locally. rajncajn
We've got this on tap at my bar. Awesome I must admit, Wisconsin had some pretty good root beers on tap. But for store-bought I wouldn't touch anything but Barq's.
