Stevie Wonder - My Cherie Amour

That's not a woman's name, Einstein.

Anyway if not already mentioned first that came to mind for me were:

Peg and Josie - both by Steely Dan

Lay Down Sally - Clapton

In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - Allman Bros

I've known 2 Cherie's in my life.

And yes, I am pretty smart.

well in that context, it's a french phrase meaning something like "my cherished love" or "my dearest love". ruling: beer is right, not a name

just thought of another one I really like, the showtune "laura", I think by johnny mercer. if I was going to pick a favorite rendition, maybe ella fitzgerald.

The thread requires a woman's name in the title. Cherie is a woman's name, therefore the Court of Appeals rules that you and BeeR are asstard twins.

that is dumb. I knew a chick named Star once....does that make twinkle twinkle little star a song with a woman's name in it?

The title is French for "My Dearest Love."

Wonder wrote this for his girlfriend at the time, Marcia. It was originally titled "Oh My Marcia."

Whomper didn't specify context or use of a proper noun, he said "woman's name in the title" and that's what that song has.
