SEC=UGA
F'in doctors. How can this system be more f'ed up? Apparently my appt today was really only to meet the freakin screeners. They wanted me to go to a different ER to get the same orders written that were written from the other ER. I am going to try to get through this independently now. Going to the MRI clinic next door to my shop to see if they can point me in the right direction. If not then I have to call in a favor from a friend of mine to get the ball rolling. Very frustrating! I guess I don't understand the issue with them getting you into an MRI. I had a shooting pain going down my neck and radiating into my shoulder. Went to see my GP, he sent me, the same day, to a musculoskeletal specialist and they sent me to get an MRI, which I scheduled for two days later because of meetings. Got the MRI and that was that... (pinched nerve in case any one was wondering) Hope they get to you quickly, sounds like you are getting quite the runaround.

Now I have the ins but have struggled to find a GP. Because I went through the ER rather than waiting for a regular doc appt everything got all screwed up. What I don't understand is why one hospitals paper isn't as good as an others. Because the orders were written on Ocshner paper LSU wouldn't recognize it and wanted to perform all the same tests again before doing what needs to be done. Sorry to hear that, sounds like a pretty stupid policy on behalf of the hospitals. I guess it's one of those CYA maneuvers so they don't get sued basing their treatment off of someone elses diagnosis. But, i will say one thing, I think you were better off going to the ER quickly than waiting for an appointment w. a GP (in case something was really messed up). Good luck, maybe chargers can send you something about needing an MRI on your vag and get you scheduled for one tomorrow.

tbimm
Ha! It sure helps to know someone. The independent MRI clinic is getting this straight for me. I choose which hoops I want to jump through!
tbimm
Finally some news to report. Good news at that. It appears that I have Vertigo and am scheduled for an ENT tomorrow to see if it will clear on it's own or require some sort of a procedure to be rid of it. More good news is that the doc felt the MRI was totally unnecessary so that keeps me from having to cover my whole deductible at once rather than spreading it out through co-pays and such. As he put it, " I am quite sure with the results from the ER that you did not have a stroke." " Considering the medication for Vertigo has relieved your symptoms, even if not completely, makes me quite sure this is the route to take." More doctors appt's and fancy tests ahead but it appears I dodged a bullet. Now to quit smoking because I really don't want to have it be for real next time! Glad to hear it wasn't something more serious. Now get to the doctor/pharmacy and have them change those meds. You shouldn't be sleeping that much. CaP'N GRuNGe
Yeah and by the way. You really don't get to choose which hoops you jump through. Were there any side effects to that medication that mentioned talking to yourself? Congrats on the initial positive news. Good luck at your ENT appointment. I get my appointment with an ENT in October to yank out my tonsils. Edited August 26, 2010 by CaP'N GRuNGe

tbimm
Yeah, especially at 200 mph. Going at that speed probably splatted his brain against the inside of the back of his head. Get well, tbimm. This... Well kind of.?.?.? Had a bunch of testing done this morning. Some more intensive testing ahead. They have ruled out that Labyrinths thing. However it's spelled that ain't it. There is something going on between my inner ear and the rest of the balance mechanism that is making it hard for my brain to know when motion has stopped. The quickness that my bike can both accelerate and come to a stop is either messing with this or just making it even harder on my brain. Both times when I fell off the bike it was at a stop more or less. It was also immediately following some intense accel and decel. ENT does not think the bike is causing it but may have just increased the already existing problem a bit. They did some really cool tests today that all came back with good results. He was also able to replicate the feeling with both eyes closed and eyes open tests. Didn't matter much between having the eyes open or closed as to when I reacted to being stopped. Should be very interesting to see what the next round of tests show but I am cleared for work on Monday which is awesome!
