Randy Moss waived

Recommended Posts

So, basically your point is that Randy was doing everything just fine but Minn decided to eat his salary and cut him loose for no reason at all, but now is making them up to save face?. Listen, I've never held Chilly in high regard but that just doesn't add up.

Uh, no - I said they fired him because of what he said in his post-game presser, which was way out of line and enormously insulting to the organization (albeit probably deserved). Absent that, I don't think we hear about any of this other stuff because I think he was behaving exactly like they expected him to. Come on - it's not like this team doesn't know who Randy Moss is and what he's about. Letting Randy Moss go for being Randy Moss (which is what I'd call the other stuff) when the guy played the majority of his career for them already would make negative sense. He was let go because he made Childress look bad in public.

As for the PI play. It would be one thing if he even looked around and couldn't manage to make the play, but dude just started jogging forward as soon as he got grabbed. It was like he knew he was going to get a flag and that was good enough. No need to bother trying to actually make a play.

Maybe we saw different plays - he got pushed forward and was trying to regain his balance. When he did, he looked for the ball. Moss always looks like he's jogging.

I heard he already started telling the teammates that Childress didn't know what he was doing and suggested they do certain things to the Patriots which they didn't do and then realized Moss was right, but not until after the game was over.....

it only took him 2-3 weeks to expose Childress and his staff to the players and even Favre doesn't want to play for him it seems....

They came up to him during the game and told him he was right about certain things that they refused to listen to him on - they're idiots.

Rotoworld:

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, The Dolphins "need to be included" as a very possible landing spot for Randy Moss on waivers.

Moss updates are trickling in by the minute, so here's the latest: NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that the Cowboys are a "no." With the Jets out of the mix, the Dolphins are likely to feel compelled to "block" the Patriots with a waiver claim if Moss makes it that far. Meanwhile, Vikings coach Brad Childress described Moss' stay in Minnesota as a "programatic non-fit." Programatic is not a word, but Chilly isn't much of a coach, either.

Apparently, Moss is picky about where he goes next...

He's Willing to sit out the Season??

What team with good enough chemistry to be playoff (let alone SuperBowl) bound is gonna take a flyer on him? At a certain point, the will not to monkey with the existing team will outweigh what he would possibly bring to the table.

When will the waiver claims be reported? When will we know where he's heading (assuming he doesn't sit out)?

He may want to rethink that....

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tells Profootballtalk.com that Randy Moss' status for 2011 "would be determined by the terms of the new CBA" if he refuses to report to a team that claims him.

Moss would likely receive a "five-day letter" from his new team in that scenario, with the threat of being placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list. Depending on the terms of the new CBA, Moss could end up property of the claiming team again in 2011 as opposed to reaching free agency.

he could still report and just not play/try - there are ways around the 5 day letter

I wonder if Randy's wishing he would have kept his yap shut about that buffet in MIN?

Just one more team that could probably use him I'll mention: the Titans. Kenny Britt is out for an indefinite time right now, so he could fill that role.

and the Titans were the ONLY team to put in a claim for him too.

I think the most interesting place for him to land would be Tennessee, even though it's doubtful since he'll likely be claimed by another team (SEA). I'm just glad I traded him last week...

Yes, this should be most interesting!

Bring in your Moss jersey for a free lunch!

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A St. Paul restaurant is making the most of Randy Moss's recent locker room outburst after the restaurant catered a meal for the Vikings last Friday.

Tinucci's restaurant is getting national attention as a result of Moss's outburst and is now offering a free lunch on Friday.

Viking fans who bring in and donate their Randy Moss gear on Friday to Tinucci's between noon and 2 p.m. will receive a free lunch buffet with ribs, chicken, beef and much more. It was the same spread that was served to Vikings' players after their practice last Friday.

Patrick Reusse and Phil Mackey of AM1500 will also be doing their radio show from the restaurant Friday.

Even if people don't have Moss gear to donate, you can still stop in and pay a special price of $8.40 for the meal.
