Mark5
I have had the AVG free version (NEVER had a problem) for a long time and last week they started the "get your new updated 2011" AVG PRO version or whatever is says to get you to pay for it.. NOW I am getting pop-ups from AVG saying they found an infected file.. Is this just a marketing ploy ? I have the 8.5 version right now

I've been using panda (It has very good scores) on my notebook w/ no problems. But I do pay for my other 3 systems...TrendMicro. Works great and covers my other 3 systems at a reasonable cost. The Irish Doggy
I gave Avast a try with my W7 machine and like it after souring on Zone Alarm w/ Kaspersky AV. More intuitive and seems to be less intrusive IMO.
tosberg34
I Use Norton Internet Security because I have a wife and two kids who pretty much click on EVERY link on the internet and anything that comes through their email. Had it for a year now and so far, so good.

polksalet
I use the Bill Gates antivirus on the new 7 machine. Of course most of the time I do not use a purposely defective operating system. Edited November 2, 2010 by polksalet

polksalet
Thanks guys, this gives me a few options to look at.. You could always change to Ubuntu Linux. It is free, can't get a virus, and easier to use than Winders. I can let you test run it on my laptop if you are ever interested.
