This is so cool!

But now I need to ask. Now that she is in the biz, do you think she can pull a string or two for me and get me in the Batman picture that they are shooting here in Pittsburgh?

Ill have her people call your people

Don't forget the little people.

Glad to see that your persona of being a Shark Vac to your daughter (I mean, the enforcer) wasn't just an act in Vegas...

Anyway, congrats!

Update

She is going in to her 6th week of the training. She loves it. It makes us very happy because to be honest , she is the type of kid that gets bored quick and starts grunting and groaning after a few weeks of practice usually (soccer , dance etc ) but with this she looks forward to going . They will begin filming within the next 2-3 weeks in NYC.

There was some interesting developments during the training. When people started they thought they had certain parts but didnt realize that the casting person put a few people in to the class who thought they had a role but were actually both going for the same role. In the case of the people in the class, the casting director felt that since they didnt have experience she needed to see more than just what won her over at the audition

Every week we got glowing reports from the guy that runs the class so we figure we are a shoe in for the role of young "melanie" . So last week here is what happens. In a surprise twist, a long shot from the class wins the role of the 17 year old melanie over a sag actress. Good news for her, what we thought was bad news for my daughter. Reason we thought it was bad news for my daughter was that my kid looked exactly like the 17 year old sag kid and nothing like the girl who won the 17 year old melanie part. That in turn costs my kid the 10 year old Melanie part. The casting director delivers that news last week and , although dissapointed, my kid stands up in the class and hugs the kid that got the part and congratulates her.

They leave the practice room and the casting director pulls my wife into her office. She begins to tell my wife that the director loves my kid. He is in L.A and he has requested pictures of rafaella and all the film practice recordings of her etc and for the past few weeks they had the kids reading all different sorts of lines and different parts in this movie. The woman told my wife the reason that we were asking your kid to read all different lines and parts is because we wanted to see how far we could push her and what roles she could handle. Long story short, she has a bigger role than the young Melanie role. Young melanie is in the movie 10 minutes in the beginning and 10 minutes at the end. The casting director said my kid will have a meaty role that involves the teenagers ,who make up the other 1:40 of the movie. She may be a younger sibling or something like that. She said she couldnt tell us until this week. So in the long run , what we thought was dissapointing news is turning out to be a blessing.

The other good news , and this I am not 100% sure on even though the woman said its a done deal, is that the movie got studio backing already and will definetly hit the big screen. At first we were told it was going to film festivals in hopes of getting picked up. Now they are saying its done already. That remains to be seen as far as I am concerned but I just wanted to update you guys that things are going well and the cameras start rolling very soon
