General Itals
Just returned home. A special thanks to all of you. I appreciate the personal stories, prayers and thoughts. I have no doubt after seeing my grandma that they were answered. When I arrived, my grandmother was actually out of bed and sitting in her chair. Although she is refusing her meds and is not eating or drinking she was alert and lucid. My mom was amazed because she hadn't been like this since she fell ill. She was very happy to see me. I was able to have a conversation with her and make her laugh. For a short time it seemed as though nothing was wrong and we were just able to enjoy each others company. Unfortunately, the doctor informed me that her systems are shutting down slowly and she will most likely pass before the new year. She is in no pain and is resting comfortably. The toughest time for me was when it was time to say goodbye. This goodbye was final. It still hurts. Again, thank you all!
