I started the game with 12 consonants in a row and was reeling. Then I got a run of over 13 vowels in a row couple that with swammi playing a great game with the subpar letters he got and unless a miracle happens I get the first round bounce. Gopher 417 Grunge 370 Playing "mosque" for a triple word was probably the clincher, although it ended up being closer than it was for a while. If not for a couple of big-scoring words, it would have been a close defensive battle... I think I had between 5 and 7 vowels, at any given time, during the entire last half of the game. We both sucked wind for a bit in the middle of that game...me catching a 7-letter word early helped, but you kept it pretty close the rest of the way, weathering the ulgy letters early. I got stuck with Q & V in my hand at the end, so I needed the decent lead to make sure the 30-point swing wouldn't do me in. Me getting the J & X & Q and playing them for easy but conservative 20+ point layups, also hurt any comeback. As ugly as the scores were for both of us, it was never out of reach until the very end.
