stevegrab
How many people do you know who are content with it? The union simply gives employees the ability to say "no, that ain't gonna happen." I don't need a union to tell my employer that, I can tell them myself. And pretty sure my employer isn't happy cutting pay and benefits either, and having a trouble keeping his business open. Of course if I and my co-workers decide to walk out on the job, we're not causing a major headache for the entire community or city. The union and the teachers know they can put pressure on by striking, causing parents to stay home or find another place for their kids all day while they're at work. Of course the teachers who are on strike can stay home with their kids, no big deal for them.

Yes - because I realize I am still fortunate to have a job and know that if I would decide to strike or do something to disrupt the business I would not have a job. Am I happy about it - no but yes I am content with it.
