song lyrics that mean something to you

Recommended Posts

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older. Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. Time - Pink Floyd

Used to play this song each time we went out and said to my best friend, "Listen to the words" little did I know that those words were quite true. It brings back some good memories!

I can bench press a car, I'm an ex football star

With degrees with both Harvard and Yale

The ladies just can't keep up, I'm a real love machine

I've had far better sex while in jail

Well, I walked out of work

And I was tired as hell

Another day come and gone and oh well

Somewhere there's a drink with my name on it

Well, I ordered a Scotch as I bust through them doors

Spilled half on my jeans

The other half on the floor

When I saw you standing by that video game

Well, I ain't very good

But I get practice by myself

Forgot my one line

So I just said what I felt

If only you were lonely,

If only you was lonely too,

If only you was lonely

I'd go home with you

Twenty push-ups this morning, that was half my goal

Tonight I'll be doin' pull-ups

On the toilet bowl

And somewhere there's somebody a-throwin up

Well, I broke the seal on my door

And I poured myself to bed

The whirlpool spinning around in my head

Around in my head

There was liquor on my breath

You were on my mind

And I'll be dreamin of that smile

Without a care in the world

If only you were lonely,

If only you was lonely too,

If only you was lonely

I walked out of the kitchen

I was tired as hell

Another day's here... oh well

Somewhere there's a smile with my name on it.

Theres a man

On my corner

Hes been laying face down for days

I dont walk

by that corner

When I go to work I walk the other way

Standin' down on Main Street

Across from Mr, Blues

In my faded leather jacket

And my weathered Brogan shoes

A chill north wind was blowin'

But the spring was comin' on

As I wondered to myself

Just how long I had been gone

So I strolled across old Main Street

Walked down a flight of stairs

Stepped into the hall

And saw all my friends were there

A neon sign was flashin' "Welcome come on in"

It feels so good feelin' good again

Instrumental

My favorite band was playin'

An Otis Redding song

When they sang the chorus

Everybody sang along

Dan and Margarita

were swayin' side by side

I heard they were divorcin'

But I guess they let it slide

And I wished I had some money with

which to buy a round

I wished I'd cashed my paycheck

Before I came to town

But I reached into my pocket

Found three twenties and a ten

It feels so good feelin' good again

There was old man Perkins

Sittin' on his stool

Watchin' Butch and Jimmy John

Talkin' loud and playin' pool

The boys from Silver City

Were standin' by the fire

Singin' like they thought

they were the Tabernacle choir

And I wanted you to see them all

I wished that you were there

I looked across the room

and saw you standin' on the stair

And when I caught your eye

I saw you break into a grin

It feels so good feelin' good again
