Shaft
Anyone know what is going on? I'm seeing and hearing different stories. Stepping away? Suspension? http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/bucs-rb-doug-martin-leaves-team-teammates-bewildered/story?id=44437055 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000765376/article/doug-martin-stepping-away-from-team-for-personal-reasons
Dolphin_Akie
Gone to rehab, problems with adderall and peds apparently. Expected to be suspended for four games in 2017.
squirrelmastr21
He'll be suspended week 17 so it will be 3 games in 2017. Is it PED's or recreational drugs or both?
darin3
He'll be suspended week 17 so it will be 3 games in 2017. Is it PED's or recreational drugs or both? Updating an earlier report, Doug Martin tested positive for Adderall. That's what triggered his failed drug test and a four-game suspension. It was surprising that Martin said he was seeking treatment after testing positive for a PED, as those aren't usually associated with dependency issues. By NFL rules, Adderall is considered a PED when taken during the season but is classified under the league's substance abuse policy in the offseason. Either way, Martin's season is over. Martin signed a five-year deal with Tampa Bay last offseason after earning All-Pro honors in 2015.
tdybaz
Martin's representative said it was Adderall, since the league can't ever comment on specifics. Which leads me to believe that many rumors I've heard in Buc sites (even before this suspension) are true, and he's messed up with cocaine or something stronger.
