My league recently drafted and I'm planning to make this the year I finally actually win the darn thing (get so close every year) so I'm going over my bench with a fine tooth comb.

 

Right now I have Matt Forte on my bench but Danny Woodhead is on the waivers. Both backs are in a time share situation on their teams, but I'm leaning toward Woodhead having more upside based on his performance last year and the Ravens being pass heavy with him being the clear pass catching back.

 

Before picking him up and dropping Forte I'm looking for some thoughts from others on which you think has the most potential upside.

I'll note my starters are DeMarco Murray and Fournette. I also have McFadden (until Elliot is back) and Gillislee

I think Woodhead is a good choice over Forte, Powell looks to be separating from Forte as more clear cut and he was more effective last year.  But both situations aren't ideal I don't think you're gaining much with Woodhead maybe more upside although it's hard to say.  No one will be climbing over their desk to get to the waiver wire to get Forte I'm sure.

If PPR, Woodhead and I don't think its that close of a decision.

 

Non-PPR and I think it is back to a coinflip situation.

BC brings up a good point. 2 years ago in San Diego Woodhead tore manure up. Was ranked #5 at one point. Not bad for a waiver pickup.

 

Flacco vs Rivers  throwing to him, but I believe Woodhead is the better value regardless.
