Still hasn't thrown anything better than a nerf ball.  I think he's done unless compelling evidence to the contrary pops up. This is ridiculous.  Hindsight of course but maybe Colts shoulda nabbed Rosen or whoever.

I think Brissett will continue to develop, especially with the o-line and RB help they drafted.

It wouldn't surprise me if his career is done.  But I would still take a chance on him in dynasty if I could buy low.  He is 28.  If he does return to form, he could be an elite quarterback for the next 10 years.

I fully believe he comes back this year. However, I don't think we see the Luck of old. I think that guy returns NEXT year.

Here is a good article about quarterbacks coming back from shoulder surgery.  It isn't very optimistic.  It is from 2005.  So hopefully Luck will benefit a bit from medical advances.

QBs not the same after injury, surgery

but who is selling? I think the buyers want to buy so low that the sellers figure, "why bother, I'll hold".

True.  If they've held him this long, they're probably going to keep holding.

actually, I might be wrong. Luck was a restricted free agent in one league. Bidding got up to $45 ($50 annual budget, so 90% of annual allotment). The RFA owner matched the bid!

I guess.  Wishful thinking maybe, they grab the stud OL and pray he isn't done.  And given the choice of Allen or Rosen, it'd almost have to be Allen...I think Rosen (and Luck maybe) would have been in a major snit if they drafted him.

yup

i guess the other possibility is that they actual like Brissett? rookies are such a crap shoot. Out of the last 30 rookie QBs drafted in the first five picks, only three have won a superbowl. About half never approached franchise status. So if Brissett is playing well, why risk it?

FWIW, I traded Luck (and Jordan Matthews, prior to when he signed with NEP) to our buddy taz for Jarvis Landry.  I own Big Ben there so Luck was certainly expendable.  If Luck comes back strong it will help both teams.  If Luck is a nothing-burger here on out, I got a steal.

Yes you will have. But this is all contingent, as you said, on Luck coming back strong. If he doesn't, It wouldn't be the worst trade I've ever made, but it will rank right up there

Hard to say with Brissett.  He did pretty good with a bare-bones team last year, but not sure he's the real deal.  I wouldn't want to bank the future on him.  He showed enough at least to be viable trade bait, which I hoped they might take advantage of in the off-season, but I didn't realize what a schmuck Ballard was.  This is reminding me somewhat of Manning's neck injury and how Irsay re-signed him to a huge contract anyway because "he'll be fine."

:whack:  Put the pills down Jimmy.

They might need Brissett to play quarterback.  And he is under contract through 2019 so they can still trade him next year if Luck does come back.  With so many quarterbacks available in the draft and in free agency, he probably didn't have much trade value this off-season.  Foles wasn't traded either.  Patience, young grasshopper.

While he wasn't dazzling, you gotta give Brissett his credit.  Bare bones team, AND he literally came right off a plane, picked up the playbook, and started the next week.  He's no Luck, but he should be even more serviceable than last year.  All skill players should finish higher than last year.  I think TY could have be an amazing buy this year in PPR if he drops to late 3rd, or even better yet - 4th.

The have done a lousy job of building a team around him.  However, I would rather him be up front and ask to be moved than to pull this passive aggressive crap to get out of town, if it is true.

Starting to remind me of a whiny baby like Bradford.
