go out and get this guy

Recommended Posts

if you havent drafted yet...take a flier...last round....if you have drafted you likely have some dead weight garbage at the end of your roster that doesnt excite you or have much upside

i drafted last night...it was a lonnnggg weekend ....hungover all day from drinking at the beach all day saturday and into the night....and a 730 start had the last few rounds going into the 11 oclock hour so i feel asleep at the wheel during the last couple of rounds......so today i tried to atone for my mistake and spent the 20 bucks to do the first drop/add of the year less than 12 hours from the draft

tre'quan smith.......this guy has kamara redux written on him....handpicked by payton...3rd round....

i know meredith and ginn are still there....meredith has 10 career starts....coming off an ACL....he got alot of love for having some decent games on a desperate team that was forced to pass a ton.....meredith has been pretty quiet and was actually seen playing into the 4th last game(although its possible it was done to get him more work/game action since he hasnt seen alot over the last year).....

im worried little about what the depth chart says...last year kamara was "buried" on the depth chart behind ingram and a future hall of famer.... until his talent forced them to scrap that.....i can see smith doing the same..6-1/6-2 210.....has caught 11 of his 13 targets so far....

im not saying youve got certain gold here.....i think he could get off to a pretty slow start and may not even many/any snaps early on....but i think a month or more into the year he will have a role.....and he could make a great addition to your receving corps as a bye week/injury filler and just maybe more

Good call Moe.

I got him on my watch list, but many drop some dead weight and wait the few weeks.  I remember past NOS WRs come up and have great seasons.

Definitely worth a stash.

Meredith got an extended look last night....so I think what I mentioned before might be true...they wanted to get him live game reps since hes had so few in the last year.......hes probably still the guy .....but I think smith will see snaps....we'll see just how many and if its enough for him to be useful.....I will prob hold smith regardless and see how it goes for a month or two if I can

Serious question?   Don't your leagues allow roster moves after the draft and before the season starts? Or just questioning the wisdom of the move?

questioning the wisdom of that particular move....i suggested if you have some dead weight longshots at the end of your bench(which smith might end up being)....but conners potential value i think was a bit too much to make a move like that

biggest thing  I'm hearing/reading....is that that they only had smith learn to the "z" spot as to not overload him .....and that's ginns spot

youd think maybe that ginn, being the veteran, might be the one to move.....he should be able to adapt easier.....so they could get smith on the field....but I dunno.....they don't seem all that concerned....id  hate to drop the guy and then watch him get out there and put up a good game and steadily get more involved....guess its a question of how long we can afford to wait

I just dropped him, so rest assured he will have 10-150-2 stat lone this week.

thats what im afraid of too...i feel like this guy could 2 weeks with 14 snaps again and no targets...then go off for like 6-100-1 or something...just dont know how long i can mess around and wait without getting someone i know i think can help

Ginn is a deep ball specialist.  He is going to be split wide.  They aren't going to change his role.  Tre'Quan only played 17% of snaps.  Austin Carr played 68% of snaps.  Tre'Quan was a nice lottery ticket with the hype he was getting but his low snap count shows he isn't going to be in the gameplan for awhile.

i know ive read the snap counts...thats why i said ginn is a z and theyve only let smith learn the z spot instead of moving him around.....

it still speaks to ginns spot and why they went out and got a guy and put him there only to learn that role as of now...maybe its a future play....but id think ginn would be able to adapt to another spot since has the most experience so they could get their most talented 3 guys on the field

the saints are a tricky team to figure out sometimes....meredith being drafted in probably every league and it a healthy inactive

Ted Ginn misses practice with knee injury

http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/380048/ted-ginn-misses-practice-with-knee-injury?ls=roto:NO:topheadlines

Ted Ginn (knee) didn't practice Wednesday.

We didn't see Ginn go down in Sunday's opener, but any knee issue is notable. The early missed practice is a concern for Ginn's Week 2 status. The Saints would be forced to activate healthy scratch Cameron Meredith or give more snaps to exciting rookie Tre'Quan Smith if Ginn can't play this week.

I think you were right in your original post.  And you even said he would get off to a slow start, have a low snap count and could have a bigger role in a month.

So I'm just curious why are you so quick to cut him loose after one week when this is exactly what you thought he would be this early on?
