There are severe penalties (see below) for not submitting your contracts on time or for having errors in your submission. Please post your new player contracts to this thread. You can post and change your contracts, cuts, etc. at any time prior to the deadline. Just edit your existing message to do so. NOTHING IN THIS THREAD IS OFFICIAL UNTIL THE DEADLINE. At the time of the deadline, the thread will be locked. Please use the sample format listed below when posting your contracts. In future years, indicate new player contracts in brackets. I will create google doc to tally all contracts for each franchise for easier tracking of players, credits, or draft picks for trading. This year, there will be no practice squad players. Practice squad players are for rookie draft picks in rounds 3 and 4 of the rookie draft in future years. The following are some rules on player contracts. Please follow these rules when assigning contracts. See the entire rules for more contract information: 5.1 Number of Players/Position: The maximum number of players on a teams roster is twenty (20) players. Position limits are not set and a team may have any number of players at each position. 5.1.1 A team may exceed the maximum number of players after a draft, but must cut the roster down to 20 players the Sunday before the beginning of the season. If a team does not submit any roster or contacts by the deadline, the team will be fined 10 credits immediately and 5 credits per day until the roster and contracts are submitted. If a team submits a roster and contracts by the deadline, but the roster exceeds the aforementioned 20 player limit or the contracts exceed 40 years (see rule section 8), then the team will be notified and fined 5 credits immediately and 5 credits per day until their roster and/or contracts are fixed. 5.3 Injured Reserve: Each team will have two (2) injured reserve slots. . . . . 5.4 A player assigned to IR will still count against the contract cap. 5.6 If any team carries less than 20 players, 1 contract year must be left unallocated for each open roster slot when contracts are assigned. After week 1 this rule is waived. 5.7 Practice Squad: Each team will have 2 additional roster spots designated for the PS. They can only be used for rookies selected in the 3rd through 4th rounds of the current year's rookie draft. Players can only remain on the PS for a year and then must either be signed to a contract or cut by the contract deadline the following year. A player can be removed from the PS during the season if another player on your active roster is placed on IR and you have an available contract year. Once removed, the player can only be signed to a 1 year contract and then will become an RFA the following year. 8.1 Each franchise has a contract cap of 40 years, which cannot be exceeded for any reason. 8.2 A player contract is the number of years that the player can remain on your roster without becoming a Restricted Free Agent. 8.3 The deadline for announcing the length of new player contracts will be the Sunday just prior to the NFL kickoff. (this is wrong in the rules, date and time listed in post) 8.3.1 If a team does not submit any roster or contacts by the deadline or if the submission exceeds the 40 player cap limit, the team will be fined as listed in rule 5.1.1. 8.3.2 Any players with 0 (zero) years that are not listed as cut on the teams contract and roster submission will be assumed to be dropped off the teams roster and allocated into the free agent pool. 8.9 Retired Players: If an NFL player decides to retire at any point, then the team currently owning that player will have the option to void that players contract and release the player. Replacements can then be sought via normal player acquisition procedures. 10.9: No trading will be allowed for the 72 hours prior to the contract deadline that is stated in rule 8.3. 15.2 Players that are waived during the season still count one year against a team's total contract cap until such time as the player is re-acquired by any other league franchise. Note, that if a player contracted for three years currently is waived, that players cap count is reduced to just one year. 15.5 Players who are waived and not signed by any other team during the year will each count as one (1) year against the waiving team's contract ceiling until the March 1st end of year date.
