fuz Posted September 20, 2018 Share Posted September 20, 2018 There are a number of references - but only one if you search "penalty" on the rule page. There is a section on waivers (15) that states: 15.2: Players that are waived during the season still count one year against a team's total contract cap until such time as the player is re-acquired by any other league franchise.
