eags
Ok, the predictions are saying 5 grabs and a td but they have him as a fringe fantasy play? Lucy, you have some splaining to do!
stevegrab
Different people with different opinions. Just because they post for the same site they don't have to agree. Besides that in a big enough league plenty guys in the fringe category get in the lineup.
michaelredd9
Jack Doyle had 80 catches last year with Jacoby Brissett throwing to him. He now has Andrew Luck throwing to him. Andrew Luck is back. Doyle is top-5 rest of season.

I'd expect a solid rotation & 2 TE sets which could hurt both of their production. I still think both will get a decent share. I'm just not sure who.

Doyle was the clear cut starter to begin the season playing 93% and 96% of snaps in the first 2 games compared to 45% and 26% for Ebron. Doyle played 73% of snaps and Ebron played 21% of snaps last game. Ebron maybe has some lingering injury issues. Both can be fantasy relevant if they play a lot of 2 tight end sets. But if they only play 1 tight end, I think it is Doyle's job. Ebron was putting up elite stats because of Luck.

It's a good problem to have in Indy.

League_Champion
Yup, I blew that one in a big way. I had Ebron and started Kittle. Ain't Fantasy Football a biatch.

kdko
Luck loves Ebron. Moreso than white boi Doile.
DMD
Doyle was productive in the past because the undrafted FA was the most talented tight end on the roster. Now former first-round pick Ebron is the most talented guy. Luck loves to use his tight ends and more so when IND faces good cornerbacks. Dolphin_Akie
Ebron certainly doesnt help but Doyle was brought down half a yard short of a TD in the second half. If he falls into the end zone then its a different story. There'll be weeks where Doyle outscores Ebron.
stevegrab
If you have Ebron you'd be crazy to bench him, who else would you play over him now? He's had 2 weeks without a TD, those are his 2 low scores (about 3 points on yardage, no PPR in my league). He was scoring TDs in the first 2 weeks while Doyle was active. And continues to score them now.

michaelredd9
In the 2 games since Doyle came back, Ebron has played 21% and 38% of snaps and been targeted 3 times in each game. Doyle has played 73% and 87% of snaps. With Luck as his quarterback, Doyle will produce if he continues to play 70%+ of snaps. 2 or 3 catches will be Doyle's floor, 4 to 7 catches will be his norm, and 8-10 catches is a possibility. Ebron will likely be inconsistent unless he can get onto the field more than he has the last 2 games. Fantasy football owners tend to believe whatever fantasy production happened in the last game is the complete reality. Ebron owners are in line for a reality check. DMD
I don't think you can overstate the significance of Ebron leading all NFL TE's with 9 TDs over his 9 games. No other TE has more than 6. Doyle only has one in four games. Doyle is on the field more since he is a good blocker. Ebron never has been a good blocker. In the four games they both played in, Ebron scored 5 TDs and Doyle just one.

michaelredd9
Doyle has 9 pass block snaps out of 127 pass snaps. He is running routes and he has Andrew Luck throwing to him. The reason Doyle is playing full-time and Ebron part time is because of blocking (mostly run blocking) but the fact remains that you can't catch passes if you're not on the field. Teams throw on 1st downs. Ebron was playing 70%-80% of snaps when Doyle was out. If Ebron continues to play less than 40% of snaps, it will limit his upside. In the two weeks since Doyle returned, Doyle had a better game on more targets the first week (Doyle 3-1 snap count), but Ebron had a better game on the same number of targets the second game (Doyle 2-1 snap count). You can love Doyle, but you cannot discount Ebron and say he won't produce anymore. Sure he may not produce as well with Doyle back, but in 2 games so far he has done well. player week %snaps targets catches yards/TD Ebron 9 22 3 3 37/1 Doyle 9 73 7 6 70/1 Ebron 10 38 3 3 69/2 Doyle 10 88 3 3 36/
michaelredd9
One reason for optimism for Ebron is that they are maybe limiting his snaps because they want him to be fully healthy. He probably leads the league in number of different injury designations. He has been listed as having his ankle, knee, shin, quad and shoulder injuries this season. It is possible for both Ebron and Doyle to get 70%+ snaps.
michaelredd9
This week will definitely be a challenge for both Indy tight ends. The Titans have given up the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. No tight end has scored a touchdown against the Titans. Zach Ertz is the only tight end who has scored more than 4.8 fantasy points this season against the Titans. Ertz had 10 catches for 112 yards.

Luck clearly likes throwing to the tight end position. 10 minutes ago, LordOpie said: where do you access that data? Go to a Myfantasyleague league site. Go to "Reports", scroll down to "League", then scroll down and click on "Points Allowed-By Position". Click on the points allowed to see what individual players have done. I use the Huddle Message Board League Site because it uses very generic rules. I believe the points allowed are calculated using that league's specific scoring.
