Big Deal to acquire Ertz

Our keeper league structure for reference.  We keep 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 then go back down to 2 a season at a time and repeat that (2,3,4,5,4,3,2,3,4,5,etc...) 

 

Next year we keep 4.  There is no $$ involved and no draft advantage to winning - just bragging rights.  I'm in an arms race against the other top contender for Zach Ertz.  I have Howard and Burton, he only has Jack Doyle.  

 

I've always struggled to let go of elite talent that I've worked hard to acquire, yet if I don't have room to play them then I need your help to push me to make the moves necessary.

 

I'm keeping Gurley, Saquon, Julio and either CMC or DJ as my 4th.  The Ertz owner wants CMC or DJ.  The other guy I'm competing against has the fortune of another buddy in the league that basically serves as his minor league team so he's now able to offer Le'Veon without any implication to his team going forward.

 

Should I make a big deal between him selecting between McCaffery and David Johnson  OR  do I tell the Ertz owner he can have his pick between the two?

I think he would go for something like the following:

I give DJ or CMC / OJ Howard / Josh Gordon / Marlon Mack

I get Ertz / Robert Woods

 

My roster would be:

 

QB: Brees / Cam

RB: Gurley / Saquon / McCaffery OR David Johnson / Kerryon / Aaron Jones

WR: Julio / Thielen / R Woods / Allen Robinson

TE: Ertz / Burton

K: Lutz

DEF: LAC & HOU

 

Do I care who I give up between DJ and CMC?

 

The other team I'm competing with has the following roster:

 

QB: Mahomes / Brady / Big Ben

RB: Kamara / Hunt / Zeke / Bell / Freeman 

WR: Brown / Tyreek / Evans 

TE: Doyle

K: Butker / Zuerlien

DEF: CHI / DEN / JAX

8 team keeper league as mentioned.  I got Gurley in the draft his rookie year in round 10.  Picked David Johnson up off waivers the year he stepped in for CJ2K.  Made a trade last year that landed me the #1 overall pick based on that team's finish so I got Saquon that way.  Picked CMC in the draft last year either round 1 or 2, can't remember.

Agree, why waste all that energy if there's no money involved? There's no payoff at the end.

Bragging rights homie. I have a lot of money leagues with a lot of cash on the line that I play in but the league I prioritize the most is the one with my closest friends in it for bragging rights and fun times

I'm just giving him grief.  I am in a league like this as well, and do enjoy talking smack all year long.
