I'm at the docking bowling alley, in full garb, as I've been doing for years. Two different strangers approach me and gimme shat. You's had the ball first and ten at the 15 . . . Kamara right, Kamara left, Kamara up the middle = first down 80% rate, v. our suspect run D. We done enuff to win the game.

Write a nasty letter to your OC and leave us alone.

So I'm having breakfast at the local casino cafe with one of my breakfast buddies and another regular at the counter says he saw on the news this morning that some kind of lawsuit has been filed over this game. :rolleyes: If so, I hope Judge Judy presides :slap:

Get over it already

Lol!  So true, which actually really blows. I hope Brady and crew beat the piss out of the Rams as I'd hate to see the Rams win, when they shouldn't even be there.

I'm headed to Vegas with an open mind.  I doubt I'll decide until the last minute, but I'm always keen to bet a dog if I can.  There's enough side action out there to make up for a Rams loss, in any case.  Last year I cleaned house on several props.  Two point conversion attempts and successes can turn your day on a dime.

Wow people are really going to root for the Pats because they're mad at the Rams for winning?

I'm tired of all the stupid lawsuits and politicians threatening to haul the NFL into Congress to explain this.

I'm going to root for good food and good beer.  Think most people simply do not give a (the really bad word) about either team.  It's just not a compelling match up.

Here is a genius yet easy solution to the garbage calls that cannot be overturned with current process. I can't take credit. One extra official per crew who sits in the booth with the same authority as all the other officials however he is watching the game live on monitor and can see replays. He can call a penalty or overturn a penalty.

That's actually been discussed for years and the NFL, for whatever reason, had been reluctant. I think their excuse is that the booth official would just create more and more lengthy stoppages. But as with everything else the NFL does it takes a huge amount of embarrassed to trigger their knee-jerk reaction. I think this fits that bill.

Everyone wants the officials to be consistant.  I am not sure we can ever ask that they always “get it right”, but we can ask that they be consistant with their calls in the context of a single game and be in the ballpark of what each rule calls for.

i am in the camp that thinks the NFL needs full time officials, and that weekly training, review of film, case by case discussion, and peer review is the best remedy for these problems.  More review is not it, IMO.

Also, please remove the spot foul aspect of PI.  It’s devastatingly game changing for a penalty that is often a. Missed b. Ticky-Tack c. Wrong.  Make it a 15 yard foul, and if it’s called in the last 2 minutes give the offense an extra 10 seconds (opposite of the 10 sec run off).

re: this situation, people need to move past it.  It did not end the game.  The play call was questionable.  The Saints still had to make the kick.  The Saints still had a chance, winning the coin toss in OT, but choked.  If they had just played better in regulation and not given up the lead, the situation would not have occurred.  I know it’s hard to swallow, but you have to move on.  In the end, they didn’t put themselves in a position to decisively win the game, and when games are coming down to last minute plays anything can happen.  That’s sports!

Nickell Robey-Coleman was fined $26,739 by the league for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Tommylee Lewis.

That same league gave Robey-Coleman 15 tickets to the SB, valued at approximately $3K-$4K each...

Make it a 15 yard foul

except that every 40+ yard pass will likely be a PI if the CB thinks the WR has a good chance to catching it, because, why not

So add a ‘flagrant’ grade that is a spot foul.

The old USFL rule there.   Would add more judgment to where they are already missing calls.

Maybe so, but overall it would reduce the number of penalties that grossly affect field postion.

I would say the NFL should maybe give 2 additional reviews for penalties only. I know reviews slow down the game but it would be worth it to get calls right or missed calls . Im sure the Rams would have loved to have the refs get a 2nd look at that missed facemask

The NFL is going to be awesome when they stop the game a dozen times to review holding penalties.
