The Boston Herald considers Patriots WR Maurice Harris a 53-man roster lock and believes he would be a starter were the season to begin today.

Harris continues to earn raves across all Patriots media. There are 40 days between now and the Patriots' opener, but it's possible Harris emerges with a real role in the Pats' up-for-grabs receiver corps.

And he could not be.

Josh Gordon could be a Pats starting WR, if he can get reinstated and not flame out for the hundredth time.   (Strange how every time he steps away from the game to address his many issues we have the NFL announce a suspension a few days later.)

They added Demaryius Thomas, who could see some resurgence playing with TB, if he can get healthy, and be a stater. But instead they likely lean heavily on the RBs like White.

I'm pretty well convinced that they could sign anyone at WR and it would work. Just look at some of the stiffs that have caught balls from Tommy.

Totally true.  Christ he made Amendola look like a stud.  Hogan....James White (i know they are dumpoffs but balls are catchable and in stride), Welker...etc.  Guys who were awesome with Brady turn into pumpkins when they leave
