Andy Dalton benched

Recommended Posts

The Red Rifle appears to have brought a bb gun to a gun fight. That offensive line isn't doing him or Mixon any favors, but he is always inconsistent. Happy Birthday!

There needs to be a soulless ginger on the field.  Who will fill the void?

I dunno - Andy Dalton doesn't seem like the main problem in Cincy.

Welcome to the Bucs 2020!!!

Nope, 8 in the box 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Mixon will probably get killed.

Not in the right spot I know but who keeps writing AN rb1 or AN rb2?   That's so annoying to me.

What’s this do to A.J. Greens value if and when he comes back? At least Dalton could find him.

i think AJ played his last down for CIN. I think he self-IR'ed himself and is done with CIN

Can a player just quit playing and still get paid? lol Green didn’t get traded and has had a long recovery. I would think he has to play or retire or do something soon.  It will be interesting to see what happens.

about (the really bad word)ing time!

i know the Oline needs help, but his decision making has been terrible this year.

not to mention he's been underthrowing way too many passes.

One thing for sure, it can't make it worse.

Dalton isn't Tom Brady but he got a bad shake here.  He is not the Bengals biggest problem

He’s made a lot of money being a below average starter, he got a fair shake. Bengals know they aren’t signing him next year so might as well see what else they have on the roster. Now they know they have zero capable QBs for next year.

Agree.  At least they can get a better assessment of the WR with a better QB (that is not saying much), but at least Dalton can throw the long ball and has more experience reading defenses than the new guy.  Best shot for CIN WRs to show what they got.

My impression was that he was average to above average for many years, I don't know about this year though

I think it was the timing that was more the issue.  He was hoping to seek a trade and they benched him literally right after the deadline.  But I agree with you I won't feel too sad about him with the money he's made

How many games has his star WR AJ Green missed this year? Dalton has definitely gotten a poor shake. Too many teams think a HOF QB is waiting there in the next draft, just for them. Some times average is as good as you can do, and with the right talent may be all you need. Trent Dilfer wasn't as good as Dalton, and his team won a SB.

it is also the first year after the reign of Marvin Lewis who was a bigger issue with the Bengals than QB play.
