I did think they were going to win. The Vikings stunk up a few games this year but that is NOT their identity. They have plenty of firepower on both sides of the ball. Plus when I saw how Dalvin looked early today, I knew he was in for a game.

Because Cousins has been soo clutch in the past?

Great game for the Vikings SMS amazing win against the odds. Was PI by Rudolph for sure, but like Shaft said it'd never be overturned. Regardless, they get a FG there and that'd force Brees, who was shaky today (Hill looked better), to score a TD.

Plenty of Vikings fans complaining all day.

Complaining that Sendejo was on the field. Yes many don’t like Kirk. Just let the coaches coach. I think they know more about their players than we do. They might have a reason for their decisions.

Might be the only person to go heavy Vikings in SmackBowl.

Kirk has really almost never got it done when it counted so there was no reason to believe today would be different, playing in a hostile away game. But Cousins achieved some redemption for himself so give him credit.  The Saints did not play their best football and the Vikings made some key plays when it mattered, including 10/18 on 3rd down and a 43 yd completion in OT.

I give him a ton of credit. Although he did everything he could to blow it, that overtime drive was very impressive. Such a great win for them.

Yeah and they just slayed the beast. I actually think the Vikings can beat the Niners.

The Vikings just beat the team i thought would represent the NFC in the SB.  Now the 49ers just got an easier road imo.

Vikings are going to be exhausted after a gritty emotional win.  Not sure they'll have enough in the tank next week but I thought they'd lose today so who knows

I was impressed today with the Vikings defense. They shut down one hell of an offense, on the road. That's a tough place to win. I really think they'll give the Niners all they can handle. Baring a Kirk Cousins meltdown of course.

The key is how well Cook plays and controls the clock.

I was surprised the DBs didn't break down more than they did.  But there are a few key guys, Danielle Hunter in particular who is a physical freak who can create problems.  And LB Barr plays disinterested for most games but can rise to the occasion and a great athlete himself.  I just don't know if they'll have enough gas next week.

Agree. They stepped it up when they had to.

while i thought the saints would win, i am not surprised by the vikes... they have a lot of talent.

as for next week i think the keys will be:

- can the vikings contain sf's run game and force the 9ers to throw

- if so, can they contain kittle, sanders, and deebo

- how much pressure will sf get on cousins (especially with several defensive players coming back from injury and others healing)

edit:

sf dbs have been hurt and min has great targets in thielen, diggs, rudolph, smith, and cook

possible returns from alexander and tartt

Agreed but i don't think the Vikings can do both, control the run game and that set of WRs. I wouldn't be shocked to see the 49ers be as big a favorite next week as the saints were today.

i agree and see 9ers winning it by about 6ish.  only becomes a blowout if min gets away from cook and the d is on fire (predictable 3rd and long, passing situations). sf is much better vs pocket passers than running qbs.

The 49ers will host the Vikings in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. The 49ers open as a seven-point favorite in the spread and the over-under is set at 46.5, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
