J.D.Morrison
Anyone else out there actually stop watching MNF for the most part because they can't stand watching 60% commercials - 40% football ? The worst is when they go to commercial after 3rd down....come back for the punt...go back to commercial....team runs back punt....go back to commercial....Oop ! It's our scheduled TV timeout....back to commercial..... I understand it is a marketing thing but seriously.......It's not even worth watching anymore.... :violin:
sundaynfl
Gives me plenty of time to get a beer, pee and beat the kids and/or the wife! Unless I am at the game!
Chargerz
Plus, all those commercials add to the length of the game. It's usually about 9:20 pacific time before the telecast is over. I don't know how anyone on the east coast stays up for the whole thing!!

Soylent Green
I have TIVo so at 8:00 I watch Raymond or a Law & Order and then rewind the live TV and watch at my own pace. Usually catch up to live by halftime.
MeanJoe
Someone tell me why they don't swap some in-game ads for commercial breaks. It's not that I don't enjoy insightful Madden color comments like "the team that scores the most points tonight is going to win this football game". It just makes sense to trade-off some commentary for a 10 second plug every once in a while between plays. Assuming most viewers are like me, they use the excessive amount of commercial breaks to channel surfing, take a leak, get another beer, or check up on the little ones to make sure they are not drawing on your new leather chair with permanent markers. In-game advertising seems like a win-win for everyone involved. Advertisers get captive audiences. Viewers get less commercial breaks. Oh yeah, and the players get more flow to the game. What am I missing? So I only get to see the Coors twins 15 times instead of 30 throughout the course of the game?
wiegie
The skybox makes MNF (and ESPECIALLY SNF) quite enjoyable to watch (even during commercials).
weekapaug
I don't know how anyone on the east coast stays up for the whole thing!! 571807[/snapback] It ain't easy. The first commercial after half time usually puts me down for the count. Every Monday I find myself thinking "cool, halftime is over". Next thing I know it's 1:00 am. :

"becasue Coors Light is the coldest tasting beer in the world" Do I have to see (and hear) that commercial 3 TIMES in EVERY commercial break?????? 1stimer
I have a group of friends who get together on Monday nights to watch MNF. The best part is not the football but basically heckling the game. We constantly are actually laughing at the commercials, at least some of them ... the others are most definitely a waste of time. The highlights are far as I am concerned so far this year have been (in random order) ... 1. Shuffling and drawing cards in order to determine the 4 losers who have to play Shocking Roulette during the commercial breaks during the MIN & IND game 2. Someone's comments about a "roughing the passer" comment on Jay Fiedler ... that it was the first time all season Jay was called a passer 3. Our local Browns homer who shows up every week periodically shouting "SUGGS" and "SUPER BOWL" throughout the game 4. The interview of a player and his answer of favorite food being biscuits and gravy and then Madden proceeded to talk about biscuits and gravy for at least 5 minutes I believe. That was hilarious. I enjoy monday nights but only because of the company.

Whiskey Pimp
You think regular MNF games are bad, wait until this MNF game with Favre starting his 200th consecutive game. Madden will do nothing but talk about Favre's skills and toughness even if the Pack are getting crushed. I think I may have this week's game on mute for the whole time. "Other beers ship warm, in trucks." You know it's a bad sign when a commercial convinces you to specifically NOT by a product.

Madden refers to Brett Favre approximately 15 times per game when the Packers aren't involved. When they're actually playing, Madden can't talk about anything or anyone else. Seriously, I wonder what a good number for an over/under for Madden saying Favre's name this coming Monday night would be. 100? 150?

Without him the Packers are a 2-4 win team.
