MikesVikes
Jerry Rice on the same list as the father of at least one current NFL player. How many on the list are still alive?
Big John
Actually 3 current players - Rice, Landetta and Gary Anderson. And Winslow is the father. Editted to add Anderson :doah: Edited November 23, 2004 by Big John

MikesVikes
And i believe all except Payton and Webster are still living. 572111 Yes, I spotted those two. I think Rice is the only one on the list that is going to start at receiver this weekend. Edited November 23, 2004 by MikesVikes
Bring Back Pat!!!
Are we counting kickers as players? Because both Morten and gary Anderse(o)n are still active as well. Total of 4 with K's and P's.

Dr. Love
I'd take Elway and Marino over Fouts and Montana any day.

T_bone65
Anyone remember Darrell Green of the Redskins? As a Cowboys fan I hated him but as a football fan he has to be listed in any top list for a CB imo.
phenom
Some questions on this one. Why is Chuck Noll on the 80's list. He had 3 losing seasons during the 80's, won 10 games only once and no Super Bowls. Dan Fouts instead of Dan Marino? Can't see that. Fouts had two great years in the 80's but Marino had the best QB season ever in 84 and 4 additional great seasons. Ozzie Newsome over Todd Christensen? Nope, Christensen lead the league in rec's in '83 and '86 and was top 10 3 other years. He was also top 10 in rec. TD's in 3 years. Newsome was only top 10 in rec's 3 times total, never lead the league and was never in the top 10 in rec. TD's in the 80's. I think Gerald Riggs was more deserving than John Riggins in the '80's. Riggins stopped playing in 85! Mike Quick also deserved some consideration. Good call on Rick Upchurch who I think is the best ever kick returner............... Tony Dorsett? Hercshel Walker? (most yards from scrimmage record I believe ?) John Elway ? Gary and Morten Anderson should be all quarter-century team.....or all 80s, 90s, 00s team !! miller_x
I'd take Elway and Marino over Fouts and Montana any day. 572351 Being that this is an ALL - 80's team, I would have to take Marino and Montana. Elway was good, but I don't think he out-performed Marino in the 80's(in the 90's yeah, but...). Fouts was also good, but nobody put up the numbers of Marino. Montana....well, you can't NOT have him on the list. He's got too much winning on his side.
Big John
Actually 3 current players - Rice, Landetta and Gary Anderson. And Winslow is the father. Editted to add Anderson :doah: 572107 spoke too soon. :doah: ESPN reports that the Rams cut Landetta today. In his place, they signed Kevin Stemke. He is a Green Bay native and his first NFL game will be at Lambeau Field.
